It’s a nightmare. Thank Goddess we own this house fully. My eldest’s girlfriend is renting (share house) and they’ve just been told no lease renewal. And she has just been made redundant. At least she keeps her job until EOFY other employees weren’t so “lucky”.

I can see how it can. But tbh for me it was cathartic, I was 22 and recently broken up from a 4yr relationship. As an only child, my alone time was precious, still is. Saw them perform this live on their tour. Perfect timing.

It was such a vibe. Actually a non vibe and that was the point. Recently had a gathering at our place and my friends daughter, very alternative & who struggles socially was there and so I put on my 90’s playlist.. she came to me and said love your music. Mission accomplished.

We are considering moving (just Mr G and I) to a regional location where we have friends and family nearby for a few years to see how it works, while we still have an income. We will keep our home to let our boys (one has a serious partner) try and get some more money behind them.

Ha. I was raised with all kinds of alternative things like tarot, mediums, seances etc… not religion though. I did dabble in all things mystical in my late teens & early 20’s..Mr G used to call me his Gypsy princess 😉

We do need to move 3 vehicles to higher ground (sometimes 2 depending on the estimated levels) because there’s only really one and a bit car spaces high enough to avoid the water. I can remember dragging my youngest out of bed to get him to back his car right up to mine at our front steps.

Not really, but we wanted to be near a river. We are actually way better positioned than most of our neighbours. We can’t really leave when it floods except if we hike up the rocks behind us, my youngest has done this (in reverse) after a late shift when the street has been blocked off.

They really do. Other examples are betting odds and stock market. All things that we would be better off not paying any attention to.

It does unfortunately. Our neighbours in front have an inground pool that gets completely trashed. Our external garage gets flooded to about 1-1.5m our attached one escapes it.

That’s fantastic. It’s actually a really good cardio exercise. I taught my sons basic skipping as children and though it wasn’t something they did at school it helped with things like MA and boxing warm ups. Things their Mum also did too.
