My interview with Solomon Pakal is up on Patreon! I'm continuing the discussion around decolonizing witchcraft and pagan practices by diving into the incredible work he is doing around Mayan culture and mysticism. These monthly videos are available to supporters at the top two tiers.

extra verbose ramble.
Who are you grateful for today?
Who may need your words of encouragement?
Who might have glimpses of darkness washed away through the power of just a few words from you?
Reach out to them now. Say hi. Say thanks. Encourage them to keep up the good work. โฃ๏ธ
who visited MIM over the years. But they are the people and words that reminded me exactly why I do what I do. Why this thing means so much to me. The reasons for pushing myself to do MORE for more people & communities.
I love all these words!
So that (finally!) gets us to the point of this (9/)
across various thumb drives & discs. (Yes, kids, I still use DVD-Rs.๐
) And I compiled all those words of encouragement and gratitude for MIM and the work I've put into it.
That collage reminds me of those moments when I first read those kind words. They represent only a tiny fraction of those (8/)
And then we get to today's point. Words of encouragement.
I made a point of updating the Awards Page. It used to be the place for all those early webpage competition awards. But I wanted it to include all praise that MIM has received. So (instead of my intended to-do tasks) I dug into old docs (7/)
wellness offerings planned & still to be dreamt of.
However, I'm 23+ years into my ๐ฏ free project, Messages in the Moonlight (MIM) (www.moonlightmessages.com). I can still remember some of my darkest thoughts during those feelings of failure, troubleshooting SEO & member requests for more. (6/)
revenue in today's market... Sucks. (It'd take 30 more of these to explain the current dynamics.) It breeds the sense of failure across the board.
I'm only roughly a year into Evylyn Rose LLC (www.evylynrose.com), so its newness just worsens those dynamics as I work to build out all spiritual (5/)

When you see next to nothing for your efforts across projects (paid & unpaid), it can shatter motivation, hope, and that deep sense of purpose and meaning as a human in this world. Some of us are more prone to it, than others, & it makes heart & soul cry.

for-profit ventures. Many of us in creative & spiritual industries often overextend ourselves through pure passion and dedication to missions we feel called to do. So we often volunteer hours or build/maintain projects that are expenses in every way for us, but valuable & vital to communities(3/)
niche, 1-person-run companies (incl. artists), face the unfortunate reality that we have to spend so much time and effort doing the promotion. ENDLESS hours overall spent on all the things, including FREE stuff just to demonstrate we're not scams.

๐ฅนWords of encouragement can mean so much more than other words can express. (Please bear with me, I'm about to get all rambley. But I promise there's a point at the end!)
You know it's annoying seeing people like me promoting paid services & offerings in your feeds. Small businesses, especially(1/)
Xavier Becerra addresses single-payer healthcare in California in a way I can appreciate. He talks about the logistics of making it happen.
He says it wonโt be easy, but it can be done.
I respect that. Too many politicians make it sound easy, then drop it once theyโre elected. Becerra gets it.
On Yom HaShoah, we honor the memory of the millions of innocent Jewish people murdered during the Nazi regime. Today and every day, we must stand unequivocally against antisemitism in all forms to ensure that Never Again is more than just a phrase, but a promise we make to our Jewish neighbors.
๐ฑ I tried cupping once and found it incredibly uncomfortable and even painful. That was with just one cup at a time. I gave up after the second try.
Seeing that just made my whole back scream, "No!" To each their own?
I want to disagree because I'm technically a leftist definition-wise. But then I know EXACTLY what you mean (and it's why you don't see me jumping on any leftist-specific bandwagons). ๐คฆโโ๏ธ So many purposes utterly defeated without even trying.
This week is Black Maternal Health Week โ and Black women are still being ignored, dismissed, and disrespected, especially during pregnancy and childbirth.
Over 80% of these deaths didnโt have to happen. This is your reminder to listen to Black women.
I really hope that's the case. Because he sounds like he really believes what he's saying, which worries me far more than him posting it in the first place. ๐ฌ
I can relate to the squirrel brain! (That's what I call it, anyway.) I like audiobooks for when I'm doing tasks like cleaning, etc. But I find I still prefer written words. It takes me a lot longer to get through (b/c squirrels!) but I still retain it better.
It's a show. ๐
Now I'm going to have to look for any audiobooks he's done b/c no screen is better.
I used to do the same with Neil deGrasse Tyson's version of Cosmos for my son. As a toddler, Neil's voice soothed him to sleep. Now he's like me & nerds out too much over the science to sleep. ๐คฃ
๐ Yes! I've been known to turn on The Unexplained when I have trouble falling asleep because William Shatner speaks extra softly and quietly for that show. I don't know if it's intentional, but it's definitely the "let me soothe you gently to slumber" voice.
Agreed. Early on, I found that the "musts" weren't helpful. There's certainly value within specific techniques and paths. But if the path in question is intended to be individualized, the "musts" without logic or explanation don't belong.
So much same! Every time I get challenged with one of those "what do you value most?" exercises, knowledge/learning is always in the top 3. ๐คทโโ๏ธ
Book dragon! I love that! Also envy the do-er learning.
I only retain so much from doing. Without written steps & explanations along with it, my brain isn't going to remember enough of the pertinent info.
Meanwhile, reading topics of interest triggers hyperfocus and my brain goes full sponge. ๐คทโโ๏ธ

Oh, I definitely need books that are serious. I learn best through written words and I'm notoriously a bookaholic.
But our brains aren't meant to be constantly in learning/serious mode. So I *need* the fluff. ๐
Thank you! Resources like these are exactly what I'm looking for. It's definitely helpful hearing a language spoken by multiple people and resources.
Agreed. Smut is my guilty pleasure when my brain needs a break from all my other reading pursuits.
๐ญ I so relate! I've been trying to learn Ukrainian for awhile and making some really good progress. (Language is not a strength of mine.)
But every time I'm taught a new quadrillion syllable (yes, hyperbole) word, no amount of sounding it out in that moment will help. ๐ณ๐ตโ๐ซ๐ซฉ
Tonight's Livestream is postponed. (My body needs a longer recovery time from today's river clean-up. ๐ )
