That they think they deserve honor simply for existing while male is itself self-victimization.

Might I also add:
Proving Obama wasn't born in US
His healthcare plan
Releasing his taxes
Infrastructure week
This habit of promising "two weeks" for everything appears to be the only thing he learned about being a contractor from all those buildings he claims he built.
Wonder what the anti-vaccine folks fear-mongering about mRNA will if they or someone they love is diagnosed with pancreatic cancer? I joke. They'll be first in line because they are frauds who fear-monger to sell vitamins and horse meds to the rubes. See e.g., Trump got his covid vax.
Trump cut his nephew‘s health insurance after his nephew‘s son was born with cerebral palsy. He was mad because the nephew challenged his father’s will. So yeah, he’s a piece of shit.
He might embarrass republicans, but they need him because he turns out the vote so they can press their horrid and unpopular policy. I can't remember who said the GOP is diabetes, Trump is a bottle of Mtn Dew. But they were right.
funnel money to donor class, limit women's rights, curtail civil rights, . . . and he's doing it by dividing the country by scapegoating immigrants, attacking women, POC, and LGBTQI+, . . . none of that is new (Willie Horton anyone? "Young bucks buying t-bones"). He's just louder than a dog whistle.
Republicans are not going to hold him accountable for anything. They agree with him. They are not cowering in fear. They are not hostages. They are his allies and accomplices. He's doing what they've been trying to do for decades--shred the social safety net, deport everyone, cut regulations,
Does that nonsense include bombing foreign countries, shooting Americans in the street, deporting citizens, disappearing non-citizens, . . . Oh of course, not. Republicans are just embarrassed again. They agree with Trump. They just wish he would be more quiet about it.
I feel like maybe Sarah Longwell has information on some of this. But it would be nice to have a better dissection based on better polling,, focus groups, etc.
That doesn't mean don't respond to them, but also don't pretend the people saying and believing such things are rational actors who will be persuaded by facts. Maybe some, but not all.
But then we don't blame the candidates for shit people make up. Because there is no way to anticipate what will be concocted. Some people didn't vote for Obama because they believed Obama-phones were a real thing. Or that he wasn't born in the US. Neither of those are Obama's fault.
Like I said everyone is certain that their one trick is the thing that would have changed it all. And when so many people disagree about the one thing it kind of tells me there’s not one thing.
Sure, we can talk about it until the cows come home. It doesn’t mean it’s a learning point tho, because we don’t really know enough to actually assess whether it had an effect or not. It’s all just opinion.
You might not have seen those comments, but I sure did. And without a heck of a lot of data, we can’t really assess whether it caused her any more trouble than it was worth.
And those people needed better information because they were just wrong. That doesn’t mean using Cheney was wrong.
Just because we wish we had it all figured out and that we could control it all doesn’t mean we have or that we can.
Astonishing how many confident “only this person can win”/“that person can’t” pronouncements already being made about 2028 from people who lack the self-awareness to consider they might be wrong.
It doesn’t work that way. That any 10 people have 10 different notions of what that one true trick is.
IMO, we should focus on what we can control and everyone should drop out of the political prediction game.
I don’t know how it affected things. No one does. Including the folks screaming that it cost Harris the election. So many want a certain & clear answer to a question that has thousands of variables. “This one trick will ensure candidate wins.”
It was literally just "hey normie republicans, Liz Cheney says voting for a Dem is the right choice to save the republic." We can disagree re: the existence of normie republicans, but Cheney had zero influence on the Dem platform or policy. It was about creating permission/normalizing voting Dem.
Thanks for the tells, folks. Worst game of spot the difference ever.
So he is truly Trump’s heir. Every thing he touches dies.
What is wrong with that person? (I asked them myself). I mean, what?
(all the above is rhetorical; people are tiresome AF)
what is wrong with you?
Seriously. The RW has spent decades building up this myth of the rugged individualist who builds everything alone; that notions of community good are synonymous with communism; & our neighbors want to steal our stuff. The message always: be afraid of people just like you.
No one wants to hire someone who smells like he thinks it’s unmanly to wipe his ass.
I think he means he’s a *worthy* beneficiary of that history as his comments show he’s putting in the work to maintain it.
It would be pretty cool if we did that anyway not just to attract men to those jobs.
But wait, I thought Romney was a normie moderate politician, from back when the Republican Party was decent . . . huh. One could almost suspect Trump didn't change much of the substance, just the volume.
