Are there open source models you find you use regularly?

It’s true though! I would say not likely but possible lol
I often wonder how much this changes things in both directions.
Like how good would Nolan McLeam be 20 years ago pre-pitch design and if he just got told he needed to establish his four-seam fastball more as his key to success.
Very boring answer is that nothing works 100% of the time and there are plenty of ways to mess someone up using tech or a system training theory or not.
Not a very typical social media response but is what it is.
There’s a whole can of worms here but CLA can fit pretty well with tech but the definitions get a bit butchered and become ideological debates versus practical.
A lot of the Marlins hiring has been directed at both (former Driveline employees).

Probably too be expected
At least the velo was up
I would guess the later.
Wonder if ABS, even as it’s set up now, will encourage pitch types that get whiffs in zone. Since you may not as many close calls just outside the zone.
Any idea what hit floor is these last two outings?
Know he’s said he’s looking to regain some weight/muscle.
Don’t think so but depending on how he hits & given his age maybe it’s a heavy 1B/3B/DH platoon? Assuming his bat is for real
Probably will. Depends how much you believe some of the prospect blurbs that had him as the top defensive shortstop in the system.
Might be best to play most of the week and rotate positions if he can swing it.
"You literally cannot read anything into the first week of baseball, stop it"
Watch me, my body is a machine that turns week 1 results into hope and crushing despair
Crawford?
If it works it works, for both of them I guess
Hm, you think the Dodgers filter too many arms through the same types/styles?
Would consider all them of them to be pretty good overall. Probably in the top 5 overall but I’d have to stop and think for the other two.
I know it’s bait but part of these discussions don’t give credit for even creating average to slightly above players.
Which also counts and lets them draft/sign higher risk guys.
But anything short of exceptional just gets called a failure.
It’s all just a big mess for every team.
I gotcha. Are you also saying the Astros have done a better job over a similar timeframe?
Lots of homegrown guys but seemed to run into the same issues. Though I don’t know if they’ve changed anything recently.
Might be a tough question for either but what would be considered success?
Just lower injury rate? Lower injury rate of higher prospects?
Or is it also a mix of acquisition, team philosophy changes.
I'm putting together a Best Ball league on Fantrax with mutuals from BlueSky and the greater Internet universe. DM me if you're interested.
No fee, slow draft starting in a couple days, some sort of creative scoring format and/roster setup to keep it fresh. Winner gets, uh, some lime pics.
Some reasons are obvious. Covid-cancelled season played a part for a while. Reduction in levels of minors undoubtedly played a part.
But smart people in the game pointed to some less obvious reasons as well. That's what I wrote about today here:

Depends what you’re going for.
Probably a positive for college but would be a negative professionally.
Scouts just look at age instead of year. But for college you’d get another year to mature physically.
Getting strong 15-8 final score vibes
None of these words are in the bible
The RIP on Netflix is pretty good.
Hope they get better quickly!

Ah nice. Just got into it myself but haven’t ventured into many of the mixed recipes yet.
Looks great! Are those blueberries?
I hear ya on the Giants note. I’m also a little suspect of the high K% but I’d guess the Marlins have some model where they think some coaching can help make a jump.
Admittedly haven’t looked much into the other two so could think there is a sleeper there too.
TBD on Cabreras elbow but that just seems to be their type of hitter they’re comfortable getting. Could be a model they have or just willing to take the chance.
Stowers kinda fits that same build.
Which article/site?
Willing to be in SEA, likes to hit there and by all accounts a good culture fit for what they’re looking for.
