The proposed pied-à-terre tax is an important step & could raise $500M for NYC. But it’s not enough. It alone will not bridge NYC’s $5B gap or fix key problems. We need more recurring revenue from the ultra-wealthy & corporations. #TaxTheRich

NYC passed 2 anti-protest bills BUT we can still stop 175B. It gives NYPD more power to set perimeters & limit free speech.

@mayor.nyc.gov: Veto 175-B
@council.nyc.gov: Sustain it

🎉 ENDORSEMENT ALERT: Following an internal vote, we have formally adopted @peoplesplannyc.bsky.social’s Make ‘Em Pay proposal for FY27
NYC is owed hundreds of millions of 💸💸💸 from bad landlords and corporations whose lawbreaking endangers workers and tenants
NYC currently leaves ≥$1.5 billion a year on the table by not consistently enforcing tenant- and worker-rights laws.
Just by enforcing these laws, the city will get more money AND support worker + tenant organizing.
@peoplesplannyc.bsky.social's "Make 'Em Pay" agenda is good policy *and* politics.

Too many New York City children are growing up in families that can’t make ends meet. That’s not just an economic issue; it’s a moral one, demanding urgency from all of us.

Text reads "The Fall of Our Foes: A People's Budget Party. Wednesday, December 3rd, 3 Dollar Bill, 260 Meserole St, Brooklyn, Doors open 6 PM." On the left is a collage of photos of activists with signs including one that says "Care not Cuts." On the right is an image of Eric Adams being kicked out a door. A comic style "pow" is over the foot kicking him, and another bubble says "Bye bye, austerity mayor!"

Good Bye Eric! You could have been such an amazing mayor if you had made everyday Nyers your priority.
#EricAdams it’s been real. We’re not going to miss your cuts to city services & terrible policies. But we are going to miss yelling at you. Shout out to all the parents, students, educators, librarians, tenants, & NYers who hounded Eric Adams at every turn to demand a People’s Budget & #CareNotCuts.

SHHHHH! We are in the LIBRARY📚! On a SUNDAY!
Eric Adams cut NYC library funding for years leading to reduced hours.
Our coalition and the City Council fought back, and didn't just restore funding, but expanded Sunday service to branches in every borough.
@peoplesplannyc.bsky.social cohered the Left's successful effort to restore most of the budget cuts Eric Adams imposed upon taking office.
The next phase in NYC budget organizing is to change the process itself. Key to this change is more transparency, as @cmalexaaviles.bsky.social makes clear.
What if we told you no 1 knows *exactly* what’s in NYC’s $116B budget other than #EricAdams & his budget office? That’s by design & Adams has been using it to cut services & hide NYPD overspending since day 1. Watch our convo w/ @cmalexaaviles.bsky.social on why tran$parency matters. #CareNotCuts

Fellow New Yorkers, get ready to join the campaign to #TaxTheRich.
Coming soon to everyone's State Assembly & Senate districts...
The Trump administration is hellbent on making NY sicker, hungrier, and less safe, all while giving billionaires a tax break.
We're joining @cmartinezclass.bsky.social and @investinourny.bsky.social calling on NY lawmakers to call a special session and pass the New York for All Act.
