I explained this already, no interest in repeating myself

We can’t keep ignoring the root cause: our dependence on fossil fuels - driving conflict, damaging our environment, and pushing costs ever higher for ordinary people.
I'm sure you personally would benefit from having more parking spaces in the city. You want to drive, more parking makes that more convenient. But the city as a whole doesn't benefit
if we built parking spaces in the city for every home, then we would be using valuable land for a low-value purpose. That would make the city less walkable, so encouraging more car use, so requiring more parking, and so on in a vicious circle. So yes, restricting parking in cities does lead to gains
The abuse that Senator Eileen Flynn has faced in recent days is both disgusting and disturbing, serving as another example of social media companies neglecting their duties to reduce harm and hateful content - @malcolmnoonan.bsky.social
Your argument is that they wouldn't suit you. So don't live there.
You say you can't do without a car because you live so far from your work. These apartments are not in the middle of nowhere. They obviously wouldn't suit someone who worked 50 miles out of the city
But you are saying you have to drive anyway, right? So if I say something else, you'll say it won't work...
you live outside a city, where land is less valuable
These apartments are in Drimnagh, 3 miles from the city centre
Sounds like too many cars
In central Dublin, there are a lot of non-car households. Why not here?
Why assume that everyone will have a car?
No, but a lot of them will work locally or on a bus route.
Some people do need cars, absolutely. Does that mean we have to build one or two parking spaces for every apartment, in areas like this? Absolutely not.
These are being built by Dublin City Council. Profits not an issue. Wanting to spend money on homes, not car parks, is the issue.
Five kilometres from the city centre, on a major bus route - how many parking spaces per apartment are necessary, and what should be exchanged?
So what do you propose? No green space? Fewer apartments? An enormous basement just for cars?
These are being built by Dublin City Council. Profits are not an issue. Value for money is.
Free parking isn't free. People often ask why there aren't more parking spaces in new developments. It's because adding spaces would mean taking other things away, or driving up the cost of the housing.
Clarity is urgently needed about what this regeneration body is for.
DCC say its about tackling dereliction.
The Gov say its about implementing all the 10 Big Moves of the Taoiseach's taskforce.
Whatever he is paid, surely we should know what his job is!

If a 600-ton excavator can be converted from diesel to electric, pretty much anything can.
And thanks to Dementia Don and the oil crooks pulling his strings, the world is now - finally - scrambling to break decisively with fossil fuels.

There are new apartments, and a library, being built at the top of Rafters Road in Drimnagh. A quick update on their progress...
Keep the ban on the Executive parties. Pride is our protest not their photo opportunity.
Last year we called for the Executive parties to be banned from Pride festivals and almost every pride festival agreed. In the year since, they have made no progress.

Bored now, byeeee!
Climate act, cuts to public transport fares, basic income for artists, two new national parks... but nothing is as important as getting re-elected!
“…Irreversible for hundreds to thousands of years”
“Irreversible”.
This is infinitely more consequential than Trump, oil prices, Hormuz etc. yet we continue to ignore it.
