You’re making a shitty point here, idk what to tell you. You’re cherry-picking this term from a specific judicial context to reinforce the point that it is overly popular in politics. It’s an asinine point. The most generous reading is that you’re being incredibly pedantic.

Calling them “justice involved persons experiencing mental illness” is professionally accurate. It makes sense not to call them inmates/criminals. If you’ve ever had family members in crisis, receiving care through the justice system, you would understand the distinction.

It is genuinely gross to cherry-pick a specifically contextual term and use that to castigate the left/democratic party.

This is a professional term. Our justice system is unfortunately the main path into treatment for addicts and people with severe mental illness.

The terminology is correct here.
