As the only party in the Legislature supporting the Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (DRIPA) as written, the BC Greens presented a constructive path forward on its advancement, shared directly with Attorney General Niki Sharma last week.

Toronto: What we’re seeing now is that (police) are not even distinguishing between protests, academic events or cultural events. Any time there are Palestinians speaking about Palestine, they are viewed as potentially anti-semitic or promoting violence.” www.thegrindmag.ca/cops-keep-sh...
highly recommend this book by Adam Johnson of @citationspod.bsky.social, which soberly lays out the hard data of the discourse that center-left media has decided is acceptable, in which Palestinians are not allowed humanity
NEW - Former NDP minister and BC’s first First Nations woman elected to the legislature, Melanie Mark, says legislation to suspend DRIPA is coming, and she’s breaking with her own party to say it. #bcpoli #dripa #cdnpoli
Today, a lot of people will be talking about the manifesto that Palantir released. In addition to pouring over what those words mean, I invite you to ground the conversation in what Palantir has already done.
Its work with Israel and ICE show us exactly what it stands for.
In the same manifesto, Palantir's owners argued that we need a national military draft, that soft power is over, and that we were too hard on Germany and Japan after World War II. I don't think that company should be allowed to exist anymore.
As I was saying, 1) I think Lewis will sell socialism better by focusing less on the big idealogical ideas and more on real things that will make people's lives better, and as a consequence 2) the narrative of Lewis as an evil Bolshevik is already collapsing in the press.

chelsea manning looking fly as hell in a nice suit being perp walked by a dipshit party city looking nypd cop named "anger"
yesterday in NYC, jewish voice for peace organized a protest against arms sale to israel. 90 people got detained after a traffic sit in held right in front of chuck schumer's office.
as usual, chelsea manning has the coolest perp walk photos. cop's name is "anger" lmfao.
I truly hate when little Right Wing Hitler youth open their mouths and give opinions in their over sized fake glasses, that they think will make them seem smart ,on things they know nothing about.
But listen to a real farmer rip her apart.
Remember when all the liberals clutched their pearls over the phrase “domestic infant supply” in the Dobbs decision?
Well, here’s the flipside of that coin: “adult demand” for adoptable infants. 🥚

Sanofi will be making Novavax available in Canada this fall — but it’s up to the provinces or territories to order this vaccine. Send an email to your health minister and your local representative to tell them why Novavax access is essential for many people: covidsociety.ca/news/nuvaxov...
The unconscionable evil of taking deporting people to a country where they have never been and do not know the languages. It's just cruelty for cruelty's sake.
The people who work for ICE are monstrous. Each and every ICE agent and employee must face justice.
The Federal Energy Minister recently spoke about a potential tripling of WoodfibreLNG exports.
FortisBC seems to have known for longer, because they’ve overbuilt pipeline infrastructure to accommodate more capacity....
...BC Hydro must know too, because the electricity lines they’ve been asked to build have far more capacity than Woodfibre currently needs.
How long has the BCNDP known about this scope creep, with more tanker trips, and more pollution than was ever advertised?

Since Woodfibre LNG was first proposed in 2014, communities in Átl'ḵa7tsem / Howe Sound have worried it would be larger, dirtier, and more damaging than this government claimed.
Evidence is mounting that those worries will become reality.

the idea that the demand of affluent people for strangers’ children is in tension with child welfare protections is actually correct. But of course in Anglophone countries, where #adoption is about making people into parents, the conclusion is “so much the worse for child welfare protections.”

The whole world should be horrified by this. Sanction the fuck out of Israel. And stop supplying them with the means to commit genocide. Why is this so fucking complicated?!?
Reminder that severe acute infections and deaths have not been the main issue with COVID for several years. The issue remains repeated infections and long-term consequences.
This is probably one of the top five requests I get from people. But there’s barely any legal solution. It shouldn’t be that hard. adopteerightslaw.com/annulment/

an adult human being who was adopted should be free, at any time, to legally sever themselves completely from their adopters.

Just look at how Jay Bhattacharya behaved before he had power.
He is now a powerful government official.
We do not need anyone’s permission to call him out.
Anyone who insists we treat with gracious dignity and total respect can be totally ignored.
They are not wrong. They are irrelevant.
