If you’re looking for great examples of classical music to show primary-aged children then Bill Bailey’s performance of Anderson’s ‘The Typewriter’ at last week’s ’Last Night of the Proms’ is fab! Lovely discussion points about performance, and what constitutes an instrument. #PrimarySky #EduSky

Good to know, thank you!
Haven’t been on Bluesky in probably a year but I’m so keen to be back in touch with the wider teaching community. Is this where everyone is now? What are your best tips for getting the most from it? #PrimarySky #EduSky
This is definitely the case on LinkedIn!
This is great! How do I get more content like this on my feed again? I’ve got a lot of people pontificating about the future of education social media but I’d really just like some great resources again! #EduSkyPrimary
Love this idea!
Getting my educationbrain juices flowing again this morning by drafting an article for @teachprimarymag.bsky.social about music teaching with tech. It’s making me miss lesson planning! #PedTech #EduSky 🍎
I am being classic ‘me’ right now: downloading a cleaning the house app and posting about it rather than… cleaning the house 😂
Parenting life hack: tights under leggings = no baby socks falling off constantly 🙌🏻
Comment says ‘I’m taking away an amazing amount of resources! Feeling more confident in the ways tech can be used intentionally, rather than as a baby sitting tool or just unnecessarily adding to the screen time of children. Really interested in the capacity for modelling and repeating explanation as an extension of myself as a teacher’
I’d say that’s learning objective achieved! Lovely group of trainee teachers at Nottingham Uni hopefully all set for using tech purposefully in their teaching in the future. #PedTech #EdTech #PGCE
😂
I’d have thought dealing dirty clothes were sort of part of the job of the dry cleaner 😂
What a wonderful little moment!
Really excited to be dipping out of maternity leave for a couple of hours to present #PedTech to PCGE students at Nottingham Uni. It’s quite a switch from nappies and feeding to discussing lesson planning but I can’t wait 😊 #WorkingMum #EduSky
Definitely to both those points. The challenge is huge for parents especially as the technology shifts so quickly; we not only have to learn it, we have to understand enough to know what will and won’t harm our children and what to do about it.
I find no matter how good or extensive the teaching at school, unless parents are aware of the issues too and get on board with preventing them, there is a massive disconnect between lessons and reality. Chn learn to give the correct answers in class but enacting them is much harder.
Great choice! Welcome!
Mine is such a bizarre combination of mine, my husband’s and my 4yo’s!
I’m going to assume everyone not sharing their Spotify is conscious that their music choices aren’t as cool as everyone else… myself included!
Have they sent you a medal?
😂
I felt smug then I invented this advent calendar thing and have basically done the same thing to myself! I went off the elf a few years ago when my then-LSA did one for my class and it created carnage every morning in my nice calm classroom!
I love maternity leave but I’m really going to miss Christmas season in school. There’s nowhere quite like a primary school at Christmas. Still, at least I’ll get to be Mary with ‘baby Jesus’ for our annual pilgrimage! #EduSkyPrimary 🍎 #EduSky
Yes I bet! Thank you, that’s very kind of you to say 😊
I know everyone does things differently but we have to have lots of ‘we love you and you’re getting presents anyway’ when he hears about the naughty list from school/preschool!
We don’t do the E*f on the S***f thing (can’t cope!) but have another advent tradition instead: I put a note in this each day with a fun Christmassy thing to do/find. It allows me to do stuff we already have planned (eg go to school Christmas fair) but also cop out and do chocolate if I forget!
Sending love! X
Such a special evening at the Pearson Teaching Awards! A real privilege to be here with so many amazing people. Everyone in education deserves a night like this. #teachingheroes
Thank you so much!

Ooooh how does it feel?!
