The apple and plum trees definitely think it is spring. Not sure I will let the apples mature though. The tree is still pretty tiny

Every spring I hope the weeds wont be too bad this sommer and every spring there comes a week where the beds turn into a lawn and horse tail mix. Half an hour of light weeding turned it back into garlic and potatoes. Not quite no dig unfortunately

They are rearing to go but it's still a bit chilly out. Already killed one cucumber (I think) trying to harden it off
what a wonderful foto. Cannot stop looking at it
just came back from a trip at sea teaching students about plankton. While spring is still in its early stages on land, in the sea it seems to be in full swing (at least in the southern North Sea). We had a lovely bloom of diatoms - lots of diversity
Planted some Siberian blueberries (honey berries) this week. Apparently they are frost hardy to -45°C. If they don't survive I don't know what will. Fruiting starts in May. Two varieties are required to produce viable flowers
It's still looking kind of wintery in our local park. Night time temps are still close to zero ( which is nice actually). But there's some hope that spring is on the way
What a mess. Garden is all ready to go. But the balcony needs some serious veg-prepping
lambs lettuce, planted last year, finally getting going
forsythia adding some colour to the garden
Finally, spring seems to be here, can't wait to get planting. Kitchen is so full of seedlings it looks like a greenhouse.
