"40 Chinese brands are now competing across the W-European region, with GEELY and CHERY increasingly pursuing a multi-brand strategy, while BYD and SAIC are consolidating efforts into core brands."

That was the route for the past 24 months anyway as far as I understand

Number one US BEV manufacturer across Germany during 2025?
Tesla?
Nope.
Ford?
Yeap
Oh I see your point. It was a typo. The word US brand was omitted. will have to delete and repost
Is this from AI? If so, it's not very good.
I'm pleased to say our forecast for the Western European new BEV passenger car market for 2025, published in our January 2025 study, came to within 0.4ppts of the final end-of-the-year result
Always good to revisit forecasts. ๐

While Apple gave up on their car, or so-called, project Titan, have @volvo-cars.bsky.social just presented their interpretation of what could have been:

The story is that A/S tariffs will be dropped, and minimum prices will replace them, effectively at the same price point as the tariffs were adding, but the nuance is that OEMs will keep these inflated margins. I wouldn't call it a blow to Tesla
๐ฉ๐ช Even the premium-driven German new car market is seeing a regulatory-driven CO2 dive.
Average monthly fleet emissions across all new passenger cars fell below 100g/km for the first time on record in November... and below Spain!
๐ซ๐ท France heads towards <80g/km

Great to see one of the auto industry's most prominent designers back.
Thomas Ingenlath returns to Volvo Cars, as Chief Design Officer, effective 1 February 2026.
He didn't make it far from Polestar, though, located down the road in Gothenburg, where he was previously CEO.

Tesla's share of the W-European new BEV passenger car market dips below 10% on a 12-month rolling basis for the first time on record.
Reasons?
Increased competition from incumbents introducing new product in line with CO2 targets
- Chinese OEMs entrance

I would say the camo is a reference to that
I have it on good authority that they have been actively seeking to acquire heritage model designations from one OEM. That OEM was unwilling, however.

Super journalism in the FT W/E:
"Yet many drivers remain deeply wary of the autonomous car transition. It takes a human about 45 hours to learn to drive a car. Why, I ask, has the tech industry spent more than $100bn trying โ and repeatedly failing โ to replicate something we can master so easily?
