Climate Change Concern Near Its High Point in US 44% of US adults worry "a great deal" about climate change or global warming is near its 46% high point from 2020.

44% of Americans are very worried about climate change — among the highest levels since 1989 — and 63% believe the US government is not taking enough environmental action, the highest since @Gallup.com started polling the question in 1992.

If every petrol + gas station had to do this, people would being buying only EVs in no time.

Guess what? Under the Automated and Electric Vehicles Act 2018 the UK government can do just this - make every station instal electric charge points.

It should do that now.

@cadavejones.bsky.social, upon being (deservedly!) honored as one of the "50 People Shaping our Society in 2026": “In the long run, if we don’t address the root cause [of the insurance crisis], which is the substantial amount of emissions from fossil fuels, insurance will no longer be available.”

🇹🇷 Over the past 12 months, 193k fully electric cars were registered in Türkiye — about 18% of total sales.

Depending on the geographical definition of Europe, that would make Türkiye roughly the 4th-largest BEV market. ⚡

Hyundai’s US EV sales up 40% EV demand is partly due to rising fuel prices, after sales fell following the US ending its $7,500 tax credit to Americans buying the cars last year.

Hopefully Detroit execs who massively wrote down their EV investments in recent months are feeling like the dumbheads they are right now. “In March, Hyundai saw its [US] sales mix return to the same level as before the [EV] tax credits” expired www.semafor.com/article/04/1...

Oil company founded by energy secretary paid no US taxes last year Liberty Energy made $193 million last year and received more than $10 million back in tax benefits, according to a nonprofit analysis released on Tax Day.

It really doesn't fill me with joy to know that I pay more federal taxes than oil companies www.politico.com/news/2026/04...

Carney temporarily suspending federal fuel excise tax on gas, diesel and aviation fuel | CBC News A day after sweeping three byelections in Ontario and Quebec that gave him a majority in the House of Commons, Prime Minister Mark Carney says he is temporarily removing the federal excise tax on gas ...

Canada starts 'fuel tax holiday', including aviation fuel, expected to cost an estimated C$2.4 billion.
The stupidest tool from the box.
Keeps demand and prices artificially high, costs billions, and largely ends up with households that don't need support. 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♂️🤦

Countries are rethinking U.S. fossil fuels after Iran war As economies in Asia and Europe reel from the energy disruption, leaders make plans to permanently replace imported oil and gas with homegrown energy.

“It is unequivocally clear that the sales pitch for LNG as a reliable, affordable fuel is quickly evaporating” said Sam Reynolds, a research lead at the Institute for Energy Economics and Financial Analysis. “The rug has been pulled out completely from under the industry narrative.”
