In case you haven’t seen the invite, @joeltelling.bsky.social, a popular YouTuber and additive manufacturing advocate invited you to “Come learn what 3D printing actually is, what it can do, and more importantly, what it cannot do” at his 3D print farm.

Another year around the globe! Thanks for being a part of my maker journey. Also Happy Cinco de Mayo!
I need to validate the idea but don’t know C/C++. I need some guidance where to make changes and what changes need to be made. Target a specific layers and change the line order for them. If it works then I can look into adding UI for it.
“First slicer able to fix the Benchy Hull Line!” is an announcement I’m looking forward to. So I filed an issue in OrcaSlicer GitHub and can use some help to get the ball rolling.

It’s not so different with tech products, apps, and services people rely on. But maybe it’s because the 3D Printing community is so open and that closing something up can lead to more closing of things.
Yeah… Lots don’t like change, restricting/impacting tools they use or their workflow, the execution of the change, there being better solutions, the rationale behind the change seeming shady, further demonstrating that Bambu Lab controls what/how the printer is used, that things are behind a wall.
It would be better if Bambu Connect was embeddable into Orca Slicer. Like Mainsail and Fluidd can load in Orca Slicer. @bambulabglobal.bsky.social any way to make this friction-free/friction-less?
Bambu Connect has a URL interface that third-party apps, like Orca Slicer, can use to send the g-code to. This is helpful, but the UX issue is still there. Being able to remotely watch the printer or receiving updates like Bambu Studio is very useful.
This seems to add a lot of additional friction. I see that Bambu Lab wants to add security. The cost is UX for everyone not using Bambu Studio. That said...
That’s pretty sweet! Form Labs is at the top of my list, and I’d consider Uniformation and Hey Gears from watching FauxHammerBlog reviews. What features do you value most in a resin printer?
Had some fun with my snowflake designs once we realized the static from the satin build plate allows them to stick directly to the wall!

I’m curious how adding fillets to a sketch differs in FreeCAD now. 🤔
Shiny FreeCAD v1.0? I’ve heard the UX could use some work. Hopefully the experience is more aligned to convention so it’s easier to pick up. I’ve only used Fusion360 and Shapr3D.
Time to give FreeCAD a try, @freecad.bsky.social? 🤔
Oh you know me. #3dprinting! My house I had so many Gridfinity bins right now. So many.
Those are some nice features, and trade offs, @josefprusa.bsky.social and Prusa team is bringing to their new CoreXY printer. What’s important to me is quality of print, speed, and repairability. I’m excited to see how this new printer holds up and compares to those on the market. Nice work!
Greetings and salutations, people on this new/different social platform! Let’s make things as makers do and create a respectful and inclusive community! #3dprinting #woodworking #maker
