Thanks, and no it's not manageable still. I have a sick (maybe terminal?) dog, two jobs full w/ too much brain work, and several volunteer commitments that I've failed to accomplish.
But rn it's sunny and I'm drinking coffee and surfing Bluesky for a bit before diving back into the deep end.

Did Kash Patel ever manage to reset his FBI password?
How did the Onion end up with Infowars? Did they get the warehouses full of supplements too?
All this and more on this season of Trump's Landing...
UUUUggghh. That would be super aggravating. I only buy white sheets now, as I can't deal with trying to match up the sets.
Life threw us some curveballs, so I haven't been paying much attention to the news.
Trying to catch up and I'm bewildered. I need an explainer for the last few weeks, like the season premiere of a tv drama from the 1980s. Has anyone made a "Previously on..." montage to fill in all the blanks?
Not only does MAHA want to take our vaccines, I think they also want to take our cheddar bay biscuits
Ugh, I am so sorry.

It's in our hymnal, and I love it so much.
My mom chose "May You Run and Not Be Weary" as her closing song. My Dad's favorites were "Immortal, Invisible" and "O Love That Wilt Not Let me Go."
I go back and forth, but "Great is Thy Faithfulness" and "Come Thou Fount" are in the running.
Oh I have been there. I just kept going, doing the stuff I knew I was supposed to do — serving, attending, studying, etc. —but my attempts to connect to The Divine kept giving 404 errors.
Eventually the glimmers came back, but I don't recall what caused that.
Yeah, that's been the topic of many conversations with my therapist. It's a lie, but deeply ingrained in many of us.
It’s this, always. “My preferences are personal and yours are political.”
It's painful how prescient "Idiocracy" was.
I have considered putting a camera on our hens too, just for kicks.
Yeah, life's a real pain in the crotch lately.
But hey, at least we didn't plagiarize a violent movie and publicly call it a scripture-based prayer. That would be so embarrassing...
If it helps either of you, the work is mostly carried out by one kid, even when there are several siblings. That's just how it works, apparently.
Glad you checked back in. Life is rough here. Just when I was coming up for air after my mom's death, my dog started declining. What we thought was an abscess is most likely an aggressive cancer. So, yeah.
That sucks, I am so sorry.
There is no evidence AT ALL of any link between thimerosal & autism.
Tragically, RFK Jr, a repulsive man, keeps pushing the myth that thimerosal in vaccines is unsafe & that it causes autism—he even sells a book dedicated to this myth—& anti-vaccine activists have heavily promoted this myth.

If his Daddy had loved him we could have had this.
Newsrooms should not block the Internet Archive. Any public service publisher should not block the Internet Archive. If anything, we should all be directly supporting the Internet Archive.
I'm closely connected to a very small liberal arts college that caters to first-gen and students with high financial need. It's a rough row to hoe (and a financially risky one, since they're tuition-funded), but it's also incredibly satisfying when young people thrive there.

Yes 1998 20 year old Mezerkis, this is happening. You’re probably wondering how we ended up here.
At Pentagon worship service today, Pete Hegseth again read a violent prayer to bless the Iran war. But this time his prayer was apparently borrowed from 'Pulp Fiction.' I promise I'm not writing for @theonion.com now:

This is Marty. He played the role of Bruiser in a college production of "Legally Blonde" and nailed every line. Was confused when people were impressed though. What, like it's hard? 14/10 (IG: sirbaldwinandmarty)
Immigrants Pay More In Taxes Than the Average Person: They get paid lower wages per hour, but they work collectively so many more hours that over the last 30 years, the average immigrant paid ~$100K more in taxes than the average person. cato.org/blog/immigra...
"Microwave ovens have to beep that loud for safety."
Yes, that makes sense. I'm sure zeroes of people have died because they don't know someone on the far side of the house was pressing buttons on the microwave keypad.

Yom HaShoah - Holocaust Remembrance Day we remember the 6 million who were murdered and the generations that were never born. And we look at today’s world and face a painful truth: “Never again” was never guaranteed. Never again is not just a slogan it demands action, NOW!!! 🇮🇱✡️
