Lugosi was good as usual in Ghost Ship, but the story barely made sense to me. I remember there were several minutes missing from the version I watched, so that might have been it. Or it had been a long day and I was half asleep (more likely).
I’m currently watching Queen of Blood from that playlist, which also has Russian clips. Stark difference in the cinematography whenever they switch to the Russian effects! Worth it for Dennis Hopper as an astronaut.
A prime example of "cinematic cannibalism," where Roger Corman purchased a Russian film and Peter Bogdanovich re-edited it into a new story with a few new scenes. Corman actually made two movies from Planeta Bur, the other one with the shorter title Voyage to the Prehistoric Planet.
I can’t offer an opinion on DQXI, but I’ve played open world games like GTA4 and Zelda for that long. I just like going back to those worlds and turning over every rock.

I got kinda punchy last night transcribing closed captions for the feature I’m working on… I may have slipped in a few jokes. Like sarcastic Easter eggs for the deaf and hard of hearing.
Thanks to @bobfreelander.bsky.social for recommending the Inner Sanctum bluray set. Each one gets weirder and weirder. I just watched The Frozen Ghost and it’s bonkers! The horror tropes stack up at a rapid pace, and Lon Chaney Jr. is a tortured soul in each one.
