Biology graduate program.

It is surprisingly difficult to find. I’d assume they’d have a statement like any other accredited school. This is why I hesitate.
I’m in a distance/ hybrid graduate program. The physical campus is closed for the weekend.

That’s surprising for a seminary!

Need some advice: do I tell my professor this is weekend is Easter? They have a major take-home written exam due on top of a major paper ( same class- schedule and syllabus is more of a suggestion) and wants to “give us the weekend” for the exam. Don’t want to be whiny but it is a major holiday ⚓️

Is it Lauds? That would explain the “singing”

Different churches do have different personalities. Church choirs and cantors are truly important. I’ll still sing loudly, mess up, and squeak out on the high notes.

🕯️⚓️Hot take: We anglicans are the worst at joyful singing. I know are exceptions, but whenever we have passionate something or other, I am always surprised at our lackluster effort.

Ooo, very problematic. Imo this is why laity should always stay in partnership with clergy.

I was reflecting on how good it was that Jesus got frustrated with his beloved disciples. Deeply humbling especially as I do love to complain about the shortcomings of the apostles, as if.

Grant that we may not so much seek to be consoled as to console; to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love. For it is in giving that we receive; it is in pardoning that we are pardoned; and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life. Amen. 🕯️

Prayer of St Francis

Lord, make us instruments of your peace. Where there is hatred, let us sow love; where there is injury, pardon; where there is discord, union; where there is doubt, faith; where there is despair, hope; where there is darkness, light; where there is sadness, joy.

I got a cool nightstand that doubles as a book case from my mom, like this ( this is NOT my pristine white room). It saved me a surprising amount of shelf space.
So yes, comb through. You can always manage space later, and pass on what you don’t keep to another hungry wannabe theologian.

Officially an oblate with The Benedictine Way!! It may seem like a small step but I’ve been reflecting on what a journey it’s been just to get here. Now the journey continues… Pray for me 🕯️⚓️

Hey Fr. Zac’s my priest! He does give a good sermon, even off the cuff.
Thank you. I am not an AI fan but it’s also here, like gasoline powered vehicles and age.

This is the best approximation of the indescribable us humans could make. Within the story is the miracle of changed hearts and love over death. Beware!

I have heard of more corporately based interpretations with less emphasis on individual participation, whether through atonement and/or salvation. Which… can turn things on its head for me.
I share in your guilt, Marguerite 😅

After reverently preparing the chalice and altar for all God’s beloved children to sup from tomorrow, I went to Costco on a Saturday and I’m back to my baseline levels of disgust and annoyance with humanity. #altarguild #ewpeople #thatwasclose ⚓️

The Benedictine Way

Incarnation Monastery or www.thebenedictineway.org is in Omaha, adjacent to a small church, and more simple and home style. I go regularly and have found much spiritual rest and renewal there.

My pet project to very very slowly Lectio the psalms really helps the office land. Usually my mind wanders during the repetitive text ( yes yes, you are a worm, David. God still loves you) but when my inner ear perks up “hey, I know that one!” I tend glean much more from it in real time. ⚓️

What’s fun is the endless contractions of y’all.
Y’alln’t, y’all’d, y’allrn’t, y’alld’ve… it makes better sense when spoken.

Y’allrn’t going to hell in a handbasket ‘cause y’all’ve been saying y’alls’ prayers.

* fires up PowerPoint
Y’all ( You all) is used pretty liberally for two or more people here. But if we’re talking crowds or universal humanity, then “All of you all” or all y’alls is appropriate. And yes, all y’all’s bodies is grammatically acceptable
