A GENTLE REMINDER: we are trying to eliminate fossil fuels because using them kills us.

If fossil fuels were cheap (they're not) or reliable (they're SO NOT), it would still be urgent to get rid of them because their intended use destroys our life support systems.

I like this kind of room. Longer than wide, lots of mismatched chairs, different spots to sit, light from all sides. A random picture I found while tidying up.

England’s housing at most affordable since 2015, official data shows Bank of England deputy governor warns Iran war will take a toll, with quoted mortgage rates already rising

Free museum entry is the mark of a civilised city — and one of the best things about London These are some of Britain’s last truly public spaces — charging overseas visitors is an erosion of that ideal

‘What are museums for? I’d suggest that in an era of declining public facilities and atomising communities, free museums are one of the last truly public spaces’ - @edwinheathcote.bsky.social www.ft.com/content/7b2d...

I’m amazed at how many people seem to still love Labor. Like, do you not have eyes? Literally they do worse than nothing and still stonk it in at election time. Greens are cutting through in UK where everyone has given up on Starmer.

Obituary: former RIBA president Frank Duffy (1940–2026) DEGW co-founder Frank Duffy helped redefine office buildings as adaptable spaces, and his approach remains relevant in the age of remote working and retrofit.

“Duffy’s approach to architecture – inquisitive, evolutionary and mediating between the changing needs of client and user – remains relevant as ever” (RIP Frank Duffy. His ‘shearing layers’ is probably single biggest conceptual influence on my thinking as a designer) www.ribaj.com/intelligence...

I think often of a New York Times photo of a little Iraqi girl tending to her parakeets in a bombed house, probably from 20 years ago now. I will think of this man and his sweet dog often now too. People just want to love what they love, care for their little beings, and instead we do this to them

Too funny the image of Leigh Sales rolling up her sleeves, sitting at her desk, and tapping out a piece on Kyle Sandilands while the whole office is out protesting.

A man sitting at a desk, surrounded by photographic negatives.

A lovely obituary for my father-in-law, Michael Silver, who died this week. A genuine optimist and enthusiast, he was always so interested in people – which is what made him such a great photographer. onthisdateinphotography.com/2026/03/11/m...

One thing that a supposedly progressive government might want to do, if it so chose, would be to tax the gigantic windfall profits of large gas companies and use that money for, oh I don’t know, rental assistance, building houses, cost of living relief, that sort of thing

Labor has wasted $53 billion on tax concessions for wealthy property investors since 2022. A further $190 billion will be wasted if Labor fails to wind back the capital gains tax discount & negative gearing. This foregone revenue should have built public & affordable housing.
