A GENTLE REMINDER: we are trying to eliminate fossil fuels because using them kills us.
If fossil fuels were cheap (they're not) or reliable (they're SO NOT), it would still be urgent to get rid of them because their intended use destroys our life support systems.

those creaky outdoor cane chairs, inside. Perfection.
1970s (maybe) postcard photo of a room with lots of chairs. Caption: 'Recreation Hall at Princess Mary's Hospital, Margate'.
I like this kind of room. Longer than wide, lots of mismatched chairs, different spots to sit, light from all sides. A random picture I found while tidying up.

The scale is odd isn’t it! Especially in these pics

I’m amazed at how many people seem to still love Labor. Like, do you not have eyes? Literally they do worse than nothing and still stonk it in at election time. Greens are cutting through in UK where everyone has given up on Starmer.

“Duffy’s approach to architecture – inquisitive, evolutionary and mediating between the changing needs of client and user – remains relevant as ever” (RIP Frank Duffy. His ‘shearing layers’ is probably single biggest conceptual influence on my thinking as a designer) www.ribaj.com/intelligence...
I think often of a New York Times photo of a little Iraqi girl tending to her parakeets in a bombed house, probably from 20 years ago now. I will think of this man and his sweet dog often now too. People just want to love what they love, care for their little beings, and instead we do this to them
Too funny the image of Leigh Sales rolling up her sleeves, sitting at her desk, and tapping out a piece on Kyle Sandilands while the whole office is out protesting.
"Sorry, Mr Picasso, we won't be hanging that anywhere. It's not cohesion-y enough."
Great!!

A lovely obituary for my father-in-law, Michael Silver, who died this week. A genuine optimist and enthusiast, he was always so interested in people – which is what made him such a great photographer. onthisdateinphotography.com/2026/03/11/m...

The fascists always looking back to “again” never forward to possibility, which takes imagination.
One thing that a supposedly progressive government might want to do, if it so chose, would be to tax the gigantic windfall profits of large gas companies and use that money for, oh I don’t know, rental assistance, building houses, cost of living relief, that sort of thing
Labor has wasted $53 billion on tax concessions for wealthy property investors since 2022. A further $190 billion will be wasted if Labor fails to wind back the capital gains tax discount & negative gearing. This foregone revenue should have built public & affordable housing.
Another packed house for our public talks series here at Melbourne School of Design linked to our M—Arch thesis: tonight the ever-brilliant Clare Cousins, one of the best architects in town
Labor love the Non-Politically Contentious Asylum Seeker soooooooo much they love them. Wow no camps for you, did you hear how clean their ASIO assessment was, these people are the best of us, etc
Cheers mate, thanks for coming.
