In my previous article on JRS, I introduced neo-exogenous development to explain China’s state-led rural networked development model under Rural Revitalization/RRS.
In my new paper, I examine this model’s governance implications, arguing that RRS has fostered a form of “rural party-statecraft”.

In other news, I am in Newcastle, Wenky just completed her 1 year at Newcastle University, and tomorrow returns to Tongji University in Shanghai to finish her PhD. We will miss you Wenky, but hope to see you at AESOP Istanbul later in July 👋👋👋 Greetings to @dr-ericxin.bsky.social and team there 🙌
