I love this!

Loved this book. Best known as a printmaker, but what a perceptive, stylish writer. For books about Aussies in 1960s London, I'll take this over Clive James any day.
We should all write a novel called something like “The Invisible Metallurgist of Accidental Regrets” or “The Afternoon Society of Disconsolate Ferrymen” and retire to a vineyard in Crete.
Thanks so much for posting that Darcy. The review is a beaut. A privilege to be read well.

The anti-migrant sentiment being expressed by a terrifyingly large number of people across the political spectrum has, ultimately, very little to do with the behaviour of actual migrants, and everything to do with anxieties around defending and maintaining white supremacy in the settler colony.
Loved the chance to chat to two of the sharpest brains around. Many thanks, Pat and Tim

Assistant Foreign Minister Matt Thistlethwaite reiterated that Australia wanted a de-escalation in hostilities but declined to directly comment on the remarks. "That's why Australia has been involved in diplomatic efforts with like-minded nations internationally to call on Iran to stop weaponising the Strait of Hormuz, to stop attacking their neighbouring countries and try and de-escalate this," he told ABC's Radio National Breakfast. Asked if Trump's remarks were helpful, he said "all parties to this conflict need to ensure that they are abiding by international law".
Nationals leader Matt Canavan has urged Anthony Albanese to make it clear he doesn't support Donald Trump's latest Iran threat. The US president has claimed on social media "a whole civilisation will die" if the US and Iran do not reach a deal to reopen the Strait of Hormuz by 10am AEST. Speaking with ABC's Radio National Breakfast, Canavan says he doesn't support Trump's rhetoric. "I think now's the time for Australia to, and the prime minister to, make it very clear that we can't support this type of approach to any kind of conflict," he said.
If Matt fucking Canavan makes you look like a simp for genocide maybe it's time you fuck the fuck off
If you're in Canberra or know someone else who is, love to say gidday on Friday.
The Bangles really didn't land the follow-up.
Has the president suggested injecting bleach into the strait of Hormuz yet

I had the time of my life at the Griefdogg launch. Thanks everyone who braved the rain to attend. Thanks to my mates who performed a song we wrote for the night, Michael Heyward and Robert Skinner who spoke, MC Silas Moir and my choir buddies. Now going to hide away a while and think about it all.
