My new paper is a contemporary review of animal games (i.e., rule-, role- and reward-based play), and how games can be leveraged in animal behaviour, cognition and welfare research following a recent proposal in humans (Allen et al 2024, Nat Hum Behav)

The first @themanybirds.bsky.social study on neophobia has finally been released as a preprint!

Together with 120+ collaborators, we studied avoidance behavior in 136 bird species, revealing both phylogenetic and ecological signatures.

Very proud to be involved!
