When I ran away from slavery, it was for myself; when I advocated emancipation, it was for my people; but when I stood up for the rights of women, self was out of the question, and I found a little nobility in the act."

The violence Black women endure today is a byproduct of the chattel slavery and Jim Crow eras, where assaulting, raping, and killing Black women were rarely punished. There's a lack of respect for us because our country has failed to reckon with the past.

Amazing how a chant by helpless college students that also appears in the Likud charter is suddenly genocide, but a threat as civilization-wide death by the guy who has the nuclear codes is "diplomacy."

Beyond reprehensible hypocrisy. Dangerous hypocrisy. Deadly hypocrisy.

MAGA Sycophant Elise Stefanik says that college students chanting "from the river to the sea" is an open call for genocide against Jewish people, but Trump's threat that "A whole civilization will die tonight, never to be brought back again," is mere diplomacy against Iranians.

We Can't Rely on Impeachment Or the 25th Amendment to Save Us From Trump's Chaos Instead of looking for a magic bullet in the Constitution to bring Trump down, progressives and anti-Trumpers should concentrate on building a lasting, broad-based, and genuine pro-democracy movement.

The conventional thinking that Trump will eventually suffer Nixon’s fate has been proven wrong. The Republican Party of the 1970s was tethered to constitutional governance. Today’s GOP has degenerated into a neofascist political cult, writes @blumslaw.bsky.social.

⭕️ Israel has committed 2,492 violations of the Gaza ceasefire since October, averaging 13.1 per day, according to a report shared by the Palestinian side with mediators and obtained by Drop Site News

Six incidents were recorded on Saturday alone, including Israeli forces shooting and killing a civilian near tents of displaced persons north of Rafah, intensive gunfire near Beit Lahia, and the explosive demolition of residential buildings in Al-Tuffah neighborhood in Gaza City.

Since the “ceasefire”, 775 Palestinians have been killed — including 207 children, 86 women, and 21 elderly — and 2,171 wounded, of whom more than half are children, women, or elderly.

Israel also continues to hold approximately 34 square kilometers beyond agreed withdrawal lines and has blocked repairs to electricity, water, and sewage infrastructure.

Aid and movement restrictions remain severe:

Aid Entry
▪️ Only ~38% of agreed humanitarian aid has entered — ~228 trucks per day vs. 600 agreed
▪️ Fuel deliveries at just 14.8% of required levels

Rafah Crossing
▪️ Rafah crossing fully closed on the reported day
▪️Only 3,150 of 11,600 planned crossings carried out (~27%)
▪️ Medical and humanitarian travel is effectively blocked

Amazon, which saved $4B in taxes under Trump's Big Ugly Bill, has cut 30,000 jobs since last October.

Verizon, which saved $2B, plans to cut 15,000 jobs this year.

Meta, which saved $3B, plans to lay off 20% or more of its workforce.

Trickle-down economics is a cruel joke.
