The Prince Estate finally getting its a*se into gear and putting out an affordable Black Album reissue might be one of the few things that gets me re-activated about RSD... that, or Janelle Monae's Metropolis: The Chase Suite being rereleased.

Doesn't seem that either are on the horizon. Sigh

Not denying that some of the individual RSD *releases* can be great.

But I’m generally happy these days to be one of the “every day is Record Store Day” crowd, instead of feeling extorted for stuff I might have only a medium level of interest in anyway

That, plus the general culture of so many people treating less “common” vinyl (not even necessarily super-rare stuff) as a bit of a “get rich quick” scheme.

Good job this year’s list didn’t have anything that particularly grabbed me anyway

The idea of “a” #RecordStoreDay has always been a great one IMO, but the specific nature of the #RSD we actually have - online purchases or preorders not being possible, the artificially created queues because of those restrictions, the flippers and general overhyping etc - has long left me cold...
