Good to know. My reward for wrapping up jobs early some weeks is catching a matinee. I will say I appreciate that the character is a teacher as opposed to a fighter pilot with 3 advanced degrees. It also makes the exposition a little more natural.
Entirely possible Kim Stanley Robinson has some bad opinions but keeps them to himself! It is a mark of maturity!
(I actually have no clue about his politics / biases outside his published works.)
You thought through how a species could become spacefaring without discovering relativity or radiation sickness but you’re also like “lmao sex” and have a female supporting character argue against gender equity.
Okay, many such cases, but you need a more heavy handed editor.
The Project Hail Mary audiobook is as well produced as everyone says it is AND the humor is extremely 2019 Reddit coded.
Makes me appreciate technical scifi writers who restrain themselves from the juvenile stuff.
Did she play the recording? I feel like that’s an underutilized tactic at hearings. Might not always be allowed either. (The J6 committee stood out for it’s ample use of video and audio.)

The cool S in an oval shape. The S is in red textured stained glass surrounded by iridescent glass to fill the shape

Mozaik is "parameter" based so even something "simple" like this required figuring out how to eliminate the toe kick on the bench so it would sit flat for shoe storage.
I'd like to focus more on cabinetry, so definitely worth learning and will help clients think about their designs.
If folks know of any alternatives, I'm all ears. Running a Mac but have a Windows virtual machine. Maybe running an old version of SketchUp would work? There are some good extensions there that automated part of the process.
Cabinet run with open shelves, a large coat closet and bench with shoe storage.
Learning how to use cabinet-maker software. This is from Mozaik. The professional software is pretty expensive -- looks like even SketchUp plugins require a "pro" subscription now.
people don't really get that because witches can't sink, they're a direct threat to surface combatants
Like imagine talking to RFK Jr. like this about why you need evidence to back up medical claims or why it’s bad to make things up about people’s health.
It hits the same note as “weird.” They can’t respond in a way that doesn’t reenforce the attack. If your opponent is big mad baby and doesn’t like that, guess what they sound like when they complain.
Talking down to adults as if they’re toddlers processing some big feelings is underutilized in politics imo.
There was an account where a teacher did “gentle parenting” cadence for dunking on Boomers who pissed her off and it was pretty brutal.
My loathsome opponents? They are baby. Little baby. Little baby that cry.
No for real: Sortition Congress with a hyped up version of a Congressional Research Service, deliberative polling / voting for public input and multiple parties.
Yeah even without the ideological divides just having digital native candidates helps a lot, too. The Green New Deal / mass jobs programs can also be collectively animating in a way other platforms are not.
He wrote an intro to Buddhist thought and a lot about walking meditation. Did some peace and environmental activism, in particular.

My main worry is that part of the coalition would sandbag it if a demsoc got the nomination, similar to how Labour undermined Corbyn.
Would volunteer for a House candidate who promises to take a swing at him.
Extremely relevant to the “Is Bluesky Dying” debate.

Constitutional hardball that helps House incumbents: $$$$$$$
Constitutional hardball that pisses off weirdo Supreme Court enjoyers: ???????
Good that Democrats are doing constitutional hardball since it's the only practical way to get to redistricting reform given where the GOP is at AND without other democratic reforms, we could just wind up with less competitive House elections generally.
