It’s been far too long!
I am absolutely rereading RIVER OF TEETH by @sarahgailey.bsky.social bc I watched the Hungry trailer, why do you ask??
if you're horrified at the mainstreaming of eugenics, first, call it out when you see it, and second, learn the history of terms like "moron" and stop using them. push back against the resurgence of the r-word and other ableist slurs.

Every federal official involved in this shameful episode needs to be prosecuted.
Not too terrible. A new tire for sure, and we’re going to patch up the punctured one for emergency use. Theoretically 😂
Mel King is my queen. That is all.
Yup. At least it was on my way home!
A photo of a punctured rear bike tire with an actual screw sticking out of it. The background is of the side of the road—apartment building doused in sunset, green lawn littered in fallen dry palm fronds from the recent storm—and is in soft focus. But for real. A screw. In my tire.
How did day one of resuming my bike commute go, you ask?

I’ve been on a journey with this image, which people first started showing me for Time War reasons in July 2025, but which is originally from 2014, taken by Jay Koolpix: www.flickr.com/photos/koolp...
Thumbnail image from Adri's latest YouTube video. In the photo, Adri is smiling and holding up their left pointer finger to indicate the number one (as in the first quarter of 2026). They're wearing a rainbow colored tie-dyed shirt, a silver necklace, a silver wire cuff on their right ear, and a silver barbell with a tiny heart-shaped stud in their right eyebrow. The background of the photo is a collage of close-up images of book covers representing titles Adri read in the first quarter of 2026, with the images blurred enough so as to not be instantly recognizable. There's also an illustration of various graphs and charts edited into the right hand side of the photo. In bold white text at the top of the thumbnail are the words "Quarter 1", which have been edited to appear behind Adri's head and shoulders, but overlaying the cover collage. End description.
🔔 NEW VIDEO! The first quarter of 2026 has come and gone, which means it's time for me to share all my first quarter reading stats—number of pages read and hours listened, most-read genres, most popular cover colors, average star rating, and much more! 📚📈📊 #BookSky #BookTube

Three hardcover books on a gray furry blanket. WHAT WE ARE SEEKING by Cameron Reed is blue and features a blooming flower, JAPANESE GOTHIC by Kylie Lee Baker is beige-ish and features a bloody Japanese home and front garden, and CELESTIAL LIGHTS by Cecile Pin is a small black hardcover with an astronaut lying in a moon-shaped patch of grass.
New books new books new books
Like, I get the sentiment, but I'm not a huge fan of seeing so many confederate flags in my timeline, y'all.

Apropos of absolutely nothing, so many folks come into my store and confidently tell me that people don’t read physical books anymore and I genuinely don’t know what to tell them.
The idea that reading “should be an escape” is profoundly disrespectful to actual teenagers. Reading can be about escape. Or not. Teenagers are no different from adults in this regard. For every young readers who craves escapism, there’s another who craves relevance.
