My son turns 13 next month and loves Godzilla. This is a perfect gift to go in his room.

Did any Olympians travel from Minsk to Milan? It would be like a reverse Rochelle, Rochelle. So, a Rochelle, Rochelle.
Reminder: All it would take to end the murder of American citizens by an untrained government goon squad is 16 Republicans in Congress voting with Dems to defund ICE (or 23 to impeach and remove Trump — 3 in House & 20 in Senate). That’s it. 23 Americans can vote for the public and end all of this.
Jimmy Stewart. You get some Hitchcock bangers, early romcoms, Mann westerns and the best Xmas movie.
We did a season where we went through each Bond actor and gave them a (subjective) B.A.H.N.D. rating and Lazenby surprisingly scored high!

If a filmmaker is gonna do one for the money, the high bars are DePalma's The Untouchables and Mission: Impossible. Make it so good that it never occurs to anyone to ask about your motivation for making it. So good that they're just grateful it exists.
I finally watched High and Low and wow, incredible. It was my first time seeing a Kurosawa film set in a contemporary setting.
Fluorescence microscopy image of a mouse embryo glows in blue over a black background.
Fluorescence microscopy reveals the secret life of cells, allowing us to view the biology of health and disease in striking detail. Now, we're pushing the limits of what we can see aglow. 🔬🩵

I watched this movie with a friend in college. I commented at how interesting it was that it was shot in Black & White. We finished the movie and learned that one of the RCA cables from the DVD player wasn't plugged in all the way. So, I still haven't seen this in color!
I think this is particularly the case with men in regards to fiction. It’s so important to read and experience the interiority of someone that isn’t you. Perspectives open up new pathways and allow for greater empathy for experiences you don’t have.
Wild Dark Shore by Charlotte McConaghy
Also, I think we can trace some of our empathy issues as a country to this lack of reading.
I’m zigging when everyone else is zagging. The lights going out. People holding up their phones with the lights on. The crowd signing along.
Who Will Save Your Soul - Jewel
Just ordered the Royal Tenenbaums one!
I read the book first which made the movie a more interesting watch.
I know this is technically a “Liberty Bell Jubilee” but I don’t care - this is a 4th of July Movie in my mind.

Happy 4th of July
It’s great. He asks questions like - Isn’t it easier to train astronauts how to drill a hole than to train oil drillers how to be an astronaut?
Are you familiar with the Ben Affleck commentary?
I wish I knew. My dad took me in late 80s / early 90s. I remember it was outdoors and near the Wisconsin/Minnesota border. I remember my dad yelling at the wrestlers and they yelled back at him and I was so proud of my dad.
Oregon, California, Colorado, New Mexico and Vermont are top 5 in some order.
Oregon gets my vote.
File it in the "everything is worse online and in tech" folder. I feel like I often watch ads that are 2-3x longer than the actual video I'm waiting to watch.
As I emotionally handle the trade of Khris Middleton, how is it 4 years since the Bucks championship and there still isn't a 2021 Bucks Championship DVD/Blu-ray?
“You’ll be visited by three spirits.”
The three spirits:
sorry to give you hope for the future but 2025 will be the first time since 1996 that new Mission: Impossible and Paul Thomas Anderson films are both released in the same year.
Jackie Chan crouching on a silver railing in front of the escalators' upper landing. there is a curtain of vertical Christmas light strands in front of him (and one horizontal) and a couple of gold poles.
Jackie Chan after leaping onto one of the gold poles, clinging to it and about to slide down. this shot is from a different angle so it feels like we're looking up at him instead of head on. half the frame is the mall's ceiling, the other half is the curtain of warm white vertical Christmas lights.
another shot of the mall in a different space, with people in foreground to the left and in background in the center, with teal carpeted stairs to the right that lead to a display that announces MERRY CHRISTMAS over a short white fence. behind it is gifts and a giant rotund Santa.
a different angle of the same display, the giant Santa is now to the left, the stairs run horizontally across the center of the frame with presents on the top step and glittering green cutouts shaped like Christmas trees of various sizes behind them. two bad guys have grabbed Brigitte Lin, caption reads 'Come on!'
Jackie Chan's Police Story is a Christmas movie
Thinking about Her (the scientist in Robocop who looks like Parker Posey)
You gotta be ready for Football Night America. You’ve been waiting all day!
For those that didn't grow up with it , Love Connection was an old dating show that was 90% cringe. It was basically Tinder with an audience
