Map of Utrecht and surroundings covered by green (and a few blue) dots with numbers per dot up to over 40.
No shortage of public EV charging posts in Utrecht ;)
The green ones have free spots (the number shows how many there are under one dot on the map), the blue don't.
These are the ones I can use with my E-Flux card. Prices vary quite a lot, but you can find them by clicking dashboard.e-flux.io/my-map
The Kia EV9 and the Hyundai IONIQ 9 are the two (enormous) cars that will be the first in the group to be used with a V2G service. This will be launched in the Netherlands before being expanded to other markets and models (hopefully including more friendly ones).
Globally averaged CO2 concentration (a) and its growth rate (b) from 1984 to 2024. Increases in successive annual means are shown as the shaded columns in (b). The red line in (a) is the monthly mean with the seasonal variation removed; the blue dots and blue line in (a) depict the monthly averages. Observations from 179 stations were used for this analysis.
Holy wow, +3.5 ppm CO₂ last year, up from +2.4 ppm average the past decade, and +0.6 ppm in the 1960s.
It gets scarier the closer you look at it. All this is a stress test for the planet, and it's buckling.
Two big reasons for the massive increase: wildfires, and the ocean sinks are shutting down.

Who leads the global electrification race?
China has electrified more than 25% of its final energy use and overtaken the US and Europe.

I always thought that industry had limited electrification potential.
How wrong I was:
Once we looked into it in more detail we found that the potential for industrial electrification is huge.
90% of industrial process heat could be electrified in Europe by 2035.
When gas is over:
First city announces complete decommissioning of the gas distribution grid by 2035.
Mannheim has a population of more than 300,000 people and will switch to district heating and heat pumps entirely.

I meant to do this ages ago but finally got around to it - this is a 'getting started on climate bluesky' doc that gathers up basic intro stuff, climate starter packs and climate feeds
*Please* reply with everything I've forgotten (which is a lot), I had to smash this out quickly last night!
