Greens from the greenhouse. Perfect for two chicken wrap dinners and a little radish snack after. Always tastes great to eat your own work!

May have been more salad bite how I ate it but they were good! Nice tender lettuce leaves holding crunchy carrots and radish slices, a lovely earthy flavor from the beet sprouts, a little aromatic action with some parsley to keep it balanced, and a sundried tomato to cut the radish spice at the end.

A fresh garden salad made with the plants and leaves that were thinned off the plant this morning. The salad includes: Lettuce, beet sprouts/younglings, French breakfast radish, sweet carrots, and sun dried sungold tomatoes from last year. Tasty!

Thinned out the garden and made myself a morning salad before my breakfast sandwich is out of the toaster. Plated on a #porcelainplate I made in college.

All 15 cups trimmed. 7 are left unwrapped to dry well the other 8 are covered for future handles.

And that’s a wrap for today’s trimming. Have some lids I will need to trim tomorrow and I broke my extra two cups (always make extra!!!) but it’s alright. Cups that are still wrapped with plastic will hopefully have handles pulled and applied to make mugs!

Use my studio and hands being covered in clay all the time to dodge phone calls. Works great!

It’s a trimming day today! Wasn’t sure if I had the energy but found it after scrolling a bit.

One year older. Garden is sprouting at the same time. A beautiful reminder that each year is a new one. Times are crazy and chaotic but spring still arrives and the garden plants keep to their own schedule.

Video

I got bored and had nothing ( that I wanted) to do in the garden, so I edited a video from a week or two ago. It’s okay, still lots to learn!

I just started to make for my next one this week!
I like to think that all the reclaimed clay from past scraped pieces add a little extra to the new ones. In spirit at least and hopefully that leads them to being better.

Ahhhh, I have tried to pick out my favorite of the favorites or even the favorite of the most recent kiln load and try to primarily use that one. I broke my all time favorite cup last year and have yet to find/make a good replacement and now use 6 instead of 1….

Fair. It works for my brain I guess. Definitely a hard habit to change and get used to.

Having my own handmade bowls is what got me to start washing dishes right after eating. Now it has become apart of the eating process for me and I never have a pile of dirty dishes stressing me out. It’s like I’m giving myself the respect of keeping my own made stuff ready to use whenever. 😊

For sure small enough to get things stuck in it. It’s more intended as a finger rest. For if there is a hot drink like tea in it you don’t burn yourself lifting it up! Maybe making it bigger or smaller to resist/assist with the stuck finger!

Always working on my handle designs. Liking this design better than others but still not sure. What’s your thought about the handle?

An approximately 3 inch tall cup made from a dark brown or milk chocolate colored clay body. The rim is about 3 inches wide with a slight taper to a foot ring that is approximately 2.5-2.75 inches wide. The cup features two flat slab attached to the side in two staggered layers to act as knob handles. It is further decorated with a .5inch ring of chattering at the bottom near the foot and the top near the rim. Glazed in Mayco Stonewear Clear.

A top view of the same cup from photo one. This angle shows off the asemic writing inscribed onto the flat knob hand supports. The darker blue of the underglaze runes pairs well with the brown clay body.

Thank you! It only has a layer of clear for the outside. I have always just loved the dark brown chocolate color of this clay!

I haven’t ever given smearing my joins any thought but not smearing makes so much sense for reducing cracks! Could be reducing the stress on the clay that forms the join! Love it!!
