Martinelli *is

True...but Martinelli no's a low touch inside forward who is constantly misprofiled as a winger. Against a high touch high possession team like city, you introduce Nelli late on. 🤷🏾‍♂️

We couldn’t deliver those this season.

Time for a new project. The Arteta project has had four years to come to fruition and it hasn’t. Time for new ideas.

Heartbroken.

Gutting. We had the chance to go ahead through Havertz before their second, and then to equalise at the end but on both occasions the finishing wasn't up to scratch - esp the late header.

Big moments win you titles, and we couldn't deliver those today. No lack of effort, just final third quality

Most of these players went into hiding. Slow to react to second balls and zero aggression in the tackles. Abysmal!

Arsenal beaten, despite a vastly improved performance.

That 90 minutes suggested to me that this is going to continue to be gripping right until the very end.

If I survive it.

More of a manager/coaching issue than a player issue. Martinelli was brought sooner in a game we couldn't string more than 5 passes.

Apt that Man City scored in the 1+15 th minute.

Generally a pretty decent half, responded to going behind in the best way possible, Havertz has led the line really well and his pressure on Donnarumma paid dividends.

It's maybe a bit more open than I like, and I don't think our right hand side is giving us enough, but 1-1 at HT probably fair

Man City vs Arsenal - Lineups

No denying that Arsenal are trying something different here.

Into the semi-finals of the Champions League!

Hard work for the players. And it's hard work to watch this team struggle for fluency and rhythm.

But it's done now. Out of the way. The right result over two legs. Atletico Madrid await, but all eyes now on Sunday.

JOB DONE! Horrible watch but Arsenal in back-to-back semi finals for the first time in the club's history. We were nervous and patched up but some big individual performances saw us through - thought we closed the game out well.

Zubimendi and Hincapie really strong, Rice walked through. YES!

Have we considered buying players without knees already? Might save some money in the long run.

Madueke injured, Dowman coming on.

Big cheer from the home fans as Dowman gets called back from his warm-up.

If your whole setup falls apart the second one or two players are missing, that’s not an injury crisis, that’s just a badly built system. A solid team should still look like itself even when a couple of key guys are out.

The issue started way before we accumulated the injuries

Im not one for analysis usually but I do think there’s something to playing more conservative and relying on our defense more this season and that falling apart at the point of the season when fatigue settles in.
