62. Memories of Murders

This is not a film about plot twists, criminal masterminds, or a cat and mouse chase. It's a look into the abyss, and the frustration, sadness, and cold nature of getting lost in the desire for a specific outcome but coming up with nothing in the end.

Still thinking about this movie. It is beautifully haunting in its cinematography that lingers throughout the run time. The constant background presence of dread has such an unnerving nature as it builds to a crescendo.

Last week was hard so I figured "fuck it" I have heard nothing but good things so lets give this chestnut a crack!

61. Cure

A superb psychological thriller that has such an unnerving tension throughout the entire length that made me uncomfortable in the best way. I am slightly annoyed it took me so long to watch this because there is so much to unpack here that I am already anticipating my next watch.

60. The Rogue Prince of Persia

It may be on the easier side of the genre but its excellent and fluid movement system make each run feel like a treat. Backed up by an extensive arsenal or weapons and tools, there is very much a lot of fun to be had with this new take on the franchise.

59. Undertone

A movie in which its concept is far more interesting than its execution. I started to audibly groan when the conversations would repeatedly go:
"Did you hear that?"
"Hear what?"
"Here, let me go back and replay it."

Sound and cinematography were good which the concept needed.

58. Replaced

Some repetitive gameplay elements do not take away from the gripping narrative and the absolutely breathtaking pixel art design of the game. I could not go more than a few minutes without being further blown away by the art direction in what has become a favourite in that category.

57. Conker's Bad Fur Day

The humor and witty writing of this game is really up my alley and features some fantastic voice acting that take it up to the next level. Some game design choices and age make the gameplay a bit of a slog but I still enjoyed my time with it

56. Arctic Eggs

The narrative did not blow me away but the art style mixed with the simple, but evolving gameplay centered of cooking and flipping different ingredients allowed for a fun level or challenge. It showed how even the simplest game design can go a long way with the right direction.

55. Borderlands 3
The gunplay is as smooth as ever and the insane arsenal of weapons make it fun to play. The art design and voice acting are decent but unfortunately the game design does not match, and the writing is simply atrocious and painful to sit through despite the voice actors talent.

54. Godzilla Minus One/Minus Color

The lack of colour in this edition truly adds another layer to the thematic nature of despair and hopelessness of the movie. This version of the movie does not feel like a gimmick, but something done to further celebrate one of modern cinema's biggest marvels.

53. Bloodhounds Season 2

Just as incredible as the 1st season but stepped up in every scale. The action, choreography, and everything else is kicked into higher gear but the shining element is the bromance between the two main characters who are just incredible and work so well together.

52. Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3

Another fantastic season that adapts and expands on the source material with some beautiful art direction, impressive fight sequences, and more emotional weight. Jujutsu Kaisen always delivers but this season especially did.

51. Trauma Code: Heroes on Call

This show had a perfect blend of humor that is balanced by the great acting and the serious moments that bring much needed levity to the series. The cast of characters, whilst formulaic, all play their part perfectly and shine a light on the medical system in Korea.

50. Hellboy (rewatch)

It is always great to rewatch a film I associate with my childhood but now be able to see just how much passion went into making it. The practical effects and make up have allowed this movie to age really well and Ron Perlman is just fantastic as the titular Hellboy.
