How’s CBC been this year? Curious on the vibes with the all craft beer shrinking situation

Black and white sketched ad for C. Feigenspan's Bock, circa 1887. Image depicts a king-like figure, likely Gambrinus, holding up a foamy chalice of beer. He's standing on a pedestal, surrounded by goats who are on their hind legs, climbing at the pedestal, looking up adoring at him.

I'm all for bock, but maybe a little less culty bock?
I have no idea how beer is regulated in MA but in WA it has crazy advantages over the other two and yet no one has figured out how to leverage that in the past decade, so we have also seen a near total collapse in speciality beer retail
my nba team was sold by the coffee billionaire to a oil (probably moreso real estate) billionaire so it’s not there anymore but my favorite mlb team is owned by a bunch of dudes that aren’t rich enough to do sports so instead im rooting for their investment portfolio, goms
This is how I found out im 2 years older than the Tacoma dome lol
really sucks that fiscally responsible washington generals is a goal
but also that sucks for blazer fans. no one is chanting ‘roi! roi! roi!’ and yet that is all these cheap owners offer
you always gotta spend money to save money
this mf is getting jealous of hoovervilles
My issue is I rarely see AB that isn’t over 3 months old so it’s just a bitter malt bomb.
Granted im in the sticks so I have to go to the city to find fresher beer but even then feels like Stone’s distro in WA is real meek
It’s crazy they didn’t notice that yuengling stuck by the classic branding and have done just fine. That’s the cool thing about being that old, there’s an aura you can coast on aesthetically which frees you up to do novel customer outreach.
It’s a cliche but I could’ve saved anchor steam
On the other side of things it’s really tragic that anchor steam died when it did. Feels like the pivot to lagers and flagships would’ve put them in a really good spot for success.
It’ll be interesting to see if Duvel reboots any of the stone classics. The branding itself was fun and distinct just the recipes/process felt particularly out of step once hazy ipa became a thing.
Ultimately the new dem president is gonna have to get to trump-level aggressiveness when it comes to EOs, get people hyped and showcase who is making your life shittier.
Been noticing that. Really cool stuff is happening in the mariners organization
I think it’s neat there’s so many first round picks just floating about these days
Spending $30 to have a t-shirt you have to explain over and over again is priceless
But seeing it sucks, so instead we build even more complex stories about it - Jewish plots, flat earth, simulation matrix stuff - it’s all just cope.
I have a couple buddies that are deep into the classic conspiracy tropes and my focus on the material bores the shit out of them
As much as it ducks trump really is the perfect embodiment for the contemporary American economic. It is one made of words and promises but the material actions are of cruelty and diminishing returns.
This has been the case for a long time but now it is so insanely easy to the average person to see
This is legitimately one of the most interesting things about trump, his utter disconnect from the truth allows people to read anything. Like I figured he doesn’t talk about the shooting since it reminds him of his mortality and that’s too much to bear. Whereas this person thinks it’s a cover up!
My take is the shooting was real but he wasn’t hit at all. Just an old man on blood thinners bumping his ear or head.
But here’s the deal, he has attained power through the distortion of reality (aka lies) so him losing power via a lie is only fair so yeah, asshole faked it and killed someone
It’s straight up wild. The thin line between Melville and insufferable blowhard explains so much annoying writing lol
Currently reading it for my first time and it is legit dope. Feels like the Bible but not boring
That’s what im talking about. Tbf in hoodsport every local calls it the IGA since at one point it was one. But names are delightfully stubborn things
It is insanely strange that they all disappeared. The only ones I think are still around in bifrost and Jolly Roger
Nice. Those are good and hyper local. Earnestly the only Washington thing (probably extends to OR, ID and NoCA) is saying ‘foodstore’ ‘beerstore’ ‘smokestore’, etc just based on what you’re getting (store and shop is interchangeable)
Tbf there is literally only one person here that I know of that is a constituent. The rest of you are likely trying to undermine the port of hoodpsort but since im only paid 3k a year im not sweating it
I need both of you to come out to hoodsport and get this winter ale. I’ll release it in early November.
Dang it. That was basically brewed for you and the one other dad in kitsap. It was good. I will make some thing like it again but for the winter
I forgot gas station which seems like the most common in the west. But I have to imagine New Hampshire has some weird ass name like emporium
