I angle them differently depending on riding conditions. That day was bright but cloudy/misty. Just needed something flashing in front of me to catch distracted eyes, but not angled up.
If I'm riding in darker/rougher conditions then I angle them a little higher/wider
The headlamps are lezyne 800's. There are much brighter lights out there, but these are more than bright enough with two mounted to the bike.

This bike is so much fun! Big 2.4inch knobby MTB tires and drop handlebars. Dual headlamps mounted mid-fork for tons of visibility, pointed at the path, away from other cyclists eyes. Testing out a cambium saddle!

it was such a good time! i've been wanting to go on a ride like this all year!
in the picture that's really pulled back and shows the landscape, my bike is sitting on top of the really steep hill and it was easily the steepest thing i've ever gone down
