Liane Hayes is Senior Lecturer in Psychology at the University of Chester. Her research focuses primarily on perinatal psychology, specifically decision-making for childbirth and post-natal psychological outcomes. She is also the SRIP Secretary.

Liane Hayes, the Chair of this year’s Annual Conference, is welcoming us this year in Chester.
"I have been a SRIP member for over 20 years and have attended many of the conferences over this time. These are always highly motivating and stimulating events, with a friendly and supportive culture.
She has authored over 160 journal publications, is lead or co-editor of three Routledge texts and has been cited more than 4,400 times. Gill is also a visiting Professor at Western Sydney University, Australia.
Prof Thomson leads the Maternal, parental and Infant Nutrition and Nurture (MAINN) research unit, and is co-director of the INTERRELATE research institute. Her research focuses on parental and infant health, perinatal mental health, birth trauma, infant feeding, and peer support models of care.

Gill Thomson currently works as a Professor in Perinatal Health at the University of Lancashire in Preston, UK. She holds a BSc and MSc in Psychology, and a PhD in Midwifery (more info in comment).

Antje Horsch is a clinical psychologist and Associate Professor at the University of Lausanne and Lausanne University Hospital (Switzerland). She leads the Lausanne Perinatal Research Group, focusing on stress in the perinatal period on parental and infant health and development of interventions.

Prof Jane Fisher was appointed Officer in the Order of Australia in 2019. In 2022 she was awarded the International Marcé Society’s John Cox Medal, and in 2025 she was awarded the inaugural Donna Stewart Medal by the International Association for Women’s Mental Health.
She has longstanding interests in the social determinants, including gender-based risks, to the mental health and wellbeing of women and girls across the life course and of how these can be addressed in public health approaches to mental health promotion.
