She told me she thought I had a novel in me and if I wrote one, she would read it and give me a no-bullshit assessment of it. So I did and she did and she found me my beloved agent Vicky Bijur and that’s how I eventually became a full-time novelist. tl;dr Talk to strangers at parties. Interesting things might happen.
