So the mod staff on Team Terrible's Discord server is ass. I posted a rescue piglet on their pets channel and it started an animal rights discussion. A meat troll started ragebaiting and a mod asked ME to stop. I asked that the baiting to be removed (which they did) and then they banned me 😡

If AI actually 'solved' animal agriculture, the energy trade-off would be a much easier conversation. But right now, we're mostly seeing it used for content generation. My point is that we should be mindful of the overhead we add to our advocacy when simpler, lower-impact methods are available

More whataboutism. It’s not about perfection, it’s about making better choices when we have them. We need the internet for work, but we don't need AI slop to share a message. If there’s a lower energy way to achieve the same goal, choose that path aligns with the goal of reducing unnecessary harm.

As vegans, we by definition, try to reduce harm wherever practical and possible. If we can spread the message without the massive energy overhead of AI generation, why wouldn't we?

That’s an appeal to other problems (fallacy of relative privation) Just because overfishing is a larger-scale crisis doesn't mean the energy and water costs of AI slop aren't real or relevant to a conversation about harm reduction. Just because one might be worse doesn't make the other one disappear

The massive energy and water costs for AI slop vids are at odds with the harm-reduction side of veganism. If we’re trying to protect habitats, the carbon footprint of 'slop' is hard to ignore

As much as I appreciate the sentiment of this, I really dislike that use of AI slop to spread a vegan message.

Either you stand against oppression or you don't. There is no "moral gray area" -You are either morally consistent, or you're not.
