Last night, as Chair of the APPG on Youth Affairs, I invited young people to Parliament to share their views on social media. They called for stronger protections to keep them safe while allowing creativity and connection. Thanks to all who took part.

Today, Labour launches the £500M Better Futures Fund, the largest of its kind in the world. It will support up to 200,000 young people with safer communities, better education and caring support to help them thrive by tackling school absence, addiction and reoffending early.

In the Chamber today, I raised the incredible achievement of the Astrogazers from Croydon High School for Girls, set to become the first all girls school in the world to launch a CubeSat into space. A powerful reminder of what happens when women are backed in STEM.

This government is building on the legacy of Sure Start by rolling out up to 1,000 new Best Start Family Hubs across the country.

This morning, I attended a service of commemoration at St Paul’s Cathedral to remember those who lost their lives on 7th July 2005.

We honour the bravery of the emergency responders and hold the survivors and bereaved families in our thoughts.

We will never forget.
