🤷 just taking you at your word that you were confused!

We don't talk enough about how often rain makes it impossible to access the lakefront in Chicago since so many access points are poorly-drained underpasses.
transfinite quantities of people living in cars
"uncountable numbers"
yeah I think this is a recent change in hours but they need to communicate it better
not the worst approach to this but kind of weird to walk around making a whole thing of it once it's clear there's no particular trouble? but also pretty harmless kind of overreaction if that's even what it was
maybe they did prevent it or maybe it already wasn't going to be a big deal, unclear!
I spoke to one whose perspective seemed to be that they had prevented a large group from forming
A related dynamic here is people dramatically underestimating the number of people who *cannot* drive.
Nobody wants to live in a neighborhood with people who don't
- walk to the grocery store
- stop to have a little chat when they see you out for a walk
- ride the train to work
- enjoy a chill bike ride

Cager culture is an abhorrent idea.

This is driven by a huge drop in 13-17 year olds getting knocked up with no recourse so just take that into consideration
yeah I think the fact that the tactics were ineffective is most of the real reason.
so perhaps those tactics are being discarded now because the juice isn't worth the squeeze
also I wonder if part of it is that the encampments were ... ineffective? like, broadly, they were trying to pressure the universities to divest from certain investments, and generally, the universities did not do that, right?
yeah that does make sense.
the "expelled from school" thing might be part of it, yeah
I mean, yeah, but they also had/have snipers on the roofs at ICE detention facilities where people have been and continue to demonstrate strongly ... I don't have an explanation for "why no more encampments" but I don't think the physical threats explain it
no tax cuts. NO FUCKING TAX CUTS!
window trim in bright colors for more buildings IMO!
oh cool! glad they're adding that!
will they ... extend the route to the opc? 🤔
