The rule should be that aisles take luggage down, then the entire aisle column clears, then middles take luggage down, then the entire column clears, etc. The point is that you never block someone who is able to walk out for the sake of taking down your bag, even if you will be quick.

Tbh this is more of a skill issue than anything else. Carry on bags are more space/time efficient than checked bags so long as capacity is restricted appropriately (ie limits are set to guarantee there isn’t overflow)

I don’t think he’s sabotaging the party because it is a judgment call specifically he is making. I think he sees the winds shifting and is trying to present the image of being in control.

I think a fundamental problem Dems have right now is that currently none of their leaders have any agency.

I could very plausibly imagine VA Dems aiming for a map like the below, which puts 9 seats pretty firmly in the Dem column.

If they did go for 9-2 it would be somewhat stronger than this but it’s kind of neat that it’s possible to draw a 9-2 that complies surprisingly well with traditional criteria

Not without fundamentally altering the architecture or weakening one of the already tenuous VRA seats.

This revised map is more secure, and is unambiguously VRA compliant.

I wanted 49-3 but a good 48-4 would be fine. This is a stronger response than Texas arguably. Texas turns 3 safes seats into R seats, makes two tossup seats redder. This map takes 3 safe or R favored seats and makes them safe D, one safe R seat and makes it lean D, and one competitive seat redder

I would not be disappointed in a really strong 48-4

Yes this is true BUT the media is talking about Texas as a solid 5 and they could definitely get a closer-to-solid 5 without any greater narrative backlash.

VRA is a meaningful constraint.

Yes.

It’s clearly better than nothing but still… can’t say I’m not a bit disappointed.

Keeps the requisite 16 Hispanic VRA districts while shoring up all battleground incumbents and nuking 6 GOP-held seats.
