Hot take: Saltwater intrusion to California's Central Valley is a national security concern and we must consider ways to prevent tidal inflows of high salinity water into that area.
It sure feels like it sometimes!
I drove by a house today that had two XC90 V8s and an S80 V8 but couldn't snag a photo.

Empire Mine Road near Sand Creek in Antioch. The rolling green hills of this oak Savannah are fading to yellow and the sky is dotted with low clouds and masked with high clouds.
Just a stunning morning in southern Antioh.
Caught a Gray Fox sneaking around the other night!
One of the best colors on the coupes. I wish I could get Pick-n-pull to lmk before they tear these apart and get them in the yard ๐ญ

Looking and riding good now! I need to repaint the stock wheels at some point but these aren't far off. Almost Davis ready!
It's gonna be a crazy year and I'm already applying for scholarships, but the hope is that I can land a full-time teaching job and go through the program as an intern so I get paid.
However, if that doesn't happen, so I have got to figure out some good way to pay for this $15,000 program.
Happy to say I've been offered and accepted admission into CSU East Bay's single subject teaching credential program. Going to focus on English for now and hopefully in a few years add on the ability to teach a host of career technical education (auto shop) classes.
Smoke from the Marina Fire is visible on radar falling out over Oakley and Discovery Bay. Gotta make sure to blow the ash off of cars before our forecasted showers turn it to lye and eat up the paint.
This 2006 Volvo V70R is powered by a turbocharged 2.5-liter inline-five that drives all four wheels through a six-speed manual transaxle. It's listed now with no reserve on BaT!

What a view!
Perhaps at some point I will resolve the coolant leak on the red coupe and give it a couple new axles and tie rod ends. Though I think it's going to need control arms and the four bolt control arms are really hard to find right now.
A higher priority is having another look at the 940. It needs an alignment but it feels like something's just a little bit loose, or there's a sticky caliper. It wants to pull to the right under braking.
Too many projects ๐ตโ๐ซ
Interviewing today for a teaching credential program that could start in late May. Thankfully it's online, but I'm sure it'll keep me stuck in the house most of the summer and delay progress on the boat but it's a small price to pay.
I've also got to work on getting a water pump kit and bellows and stuff before putting on the other lower unit and prop. That'll be about $450 (๐ฌ) but it'll be a good insurance policy for a few years.
And then when my shoulder finally feels better I'll finish polishing it.
I pulled another gallon of gas out of the Cobalt the other day, poured a bottle of fuel system cleaner and some fuel stabilizer in and added 5 gallons of fresh gas. I'm going to let it sit until I figure out how to agitate the mixture.
Then pump out a sample and see how it looks.
You're going to find me in a lot more Western wear because I found this estate sale down the street that literally has gobs of some of the nicest clothing I've seen in a long time and it all fits really well.
For some scale, NOAA's budget is $7 billion a year, the National Park Service's budget is $3 billion a year, and the entire federal public defender system costs under $2 billion a year.
Heck, this is more than twice what ICE got for Trump's signature mass deportations last July.
I'd like to highlight a coworker's Pontiac Grand Prix GTP 40th Anniversary Edition. This thing is CLEAN!
We don't even have any gas operated tools. I'm thinking I can properly dilute it in the neighbor's old motorhome. I bet that 454 would safely enjoy it.

That doesn't seem like the right color for gasoline. Smells like paint thinner.
I guess my only decent move is to bring this and the other 7 gallons I've pulled out so far to the hazardous waste facility?
1991 Volvo 940 SE turbo sedan painted in white in a cul-de-sac
This thing drives so much better!
We got lucky with the front toe, so I don't think it's going to need extensive alignment and I should be able to put it off till my next check at least.
Might have to give it comprehensive coverage now ๐ค
