And you couldn't work out relative positioning from the other players' general positions on the pitch?

Is the position clustering based on area of pitch they operate the most of is it relative to the rest of the team?

In an ideal world where data is reliable and the statistics are good, data should carry more weight when discussing goalkeepers compared to outfielders. A lot less factors at play making them more portable across any system.

1. Are players who receive the ball with the largest variation in time to use it the tempo controllers? Or are the players giving it to these guys them?

2. Is this a measure of on-the-ball, or off-the-ball tempo control? Is it the interpretation of space that determines how much time they have?

Surely long term our goalkeeper stats should be the most reliable of all? Less variables, limited in where they complete their actions, any on ball stuff mostly in one direction etc.

Tim Iroegbunam leading over Idrissa Gueye was not something I was expecting to see.

There's definitely talent there to work with, just big positional flaws to iron out if there's any hope of him playing deep at a high level.

I think the solution is more likely to be pushing the RB up. Let McNeil play wide, Ndiaye in the 10 but have Young/Patterson pushing up the right to give Harrison/Lindstrøm support. Think Young is much more comfortable up there and then you've got two wide options who can serve a ball.

We were too harsh, but I'm not sure he's evolved that much. That Fulham squad has good talent all at or just before prime ages. I'm not sure he's got them much higher than where you'd expect that squad to be.
