Its not that the media is not covering what is happening, but it does feel like the military occupation of an American city should be treated as a national crisis.

Someone who claims to have witnessed the incident says
- car was blocking ice
- they told them to move
- "something happened'
- ICE shot into the car as it was driving away
- passenger got out of the car covered away and said friend was dead

There is video and I have seen it

Kind of wild that while food assistance was withheld from millions of families, one Trump-supporting billionaire (Ellison) saw his net worth grow more this year than the entire SNAP budget. And the YTD gains of the other four richest men would’ve fully covered salaries for all 2M federal employees.

A 13-year-old boy was arrested by Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents in Everett after an interaction with members of the Everett Police Department and sent to a juvenile detention facility in Virginia, according to his mother and immigration lawyer Andrew Lattarulo.

The boy’s mother, Josiele Berto, was called to pick her son up from the Everett Police Department on Thursday, the day he was arrested. After waiting for about an hour and a half, she was told her son was taken by ICE, Berto told the Globe in a phone interview.

“My world collapsed,” Berto said in Portuguese.

From the police department, the boy was taken to ICE’s holding facility in Burlington on Thursday evening, where he spent a night before being transferred by car to the Northwestern Regional Juvenile Detention Center in Winchester, Va., on Friday morning, his mother said. The juvenile facility is more than 500 miles away from Everett.

The boy is a 7th-grader at Albert N. Parlin School in Everett, his mother said. The teen and his family, who are Brazilian nationals, have a pending asylum case and are authorized to work legally in the United States, Lattarulo said.

Hundreds of Alligator Alcatraz detainees drop off the grid after leaving site As of the end of August, the whereabouts of two-thirds of more than 1,800 men detained at Alligator Alcatraz during the month of July could not be determined by the Miami Herald.

More than 1800 detainees are missing after the closure of Alligator Alcatraz. Their families and lawyers can’t find them and they’ve vanished from the ICE database. Feels like this should be a much bigger story www.miamiherald.com/news/local/i...

A General Air of Anxiety - Boston Review The Red Scare targeted my father. He taught me the meaning of resistance.

Over the last year, I had the opportunity to spend a lot of time with Joan Scott. It was clear how much the experience of her father -- victim of McCarthyism -- shaped her as a scholar and person. This essay is a powerful testament to that.

Trump’s Speedboat Attack Crossed All the Lines The killing of 11 people went beyond any strike in the war on terror.

Trump's airstrike on a boat in the Caribbean crossed lines not even the worst War on Terror drone strike did. Never before did the US deliberately hit a nonthreatening target, in an area where the US military freely operates, when arrest was easily doable.

It’s hard not to read this as overtly eliminationist rhetoric and it’s frankly terrifying to me.

I condemn this. I condemn this. I condemn this.

And I condemn everyone who believes in anything like it.

This is not about the merits of Iran’s nuclear program. No president has the authority to bomb another country that does not pose an imminent threat to the US without the approval of Congress. This is an unambiguous impeachable offense.
