In this case the town does not have jurisdiction, so it went to court to claim that it should. Best part is that the zoning board voted 2-1 in favor of the solar panels but it had to be unanimous.

My personal opinion, based on lots of reporting I've seen, is that there was nothing wrong with Biden's mental acuity but that he was only good for about six hours a day. He could get through his presidency with good people around him. (And he did.)

Should a community be able to reject a solar project to protect its trees? The SJC wades into the controversy in central Mass. The justices appeared to be grappling with the genuine desire of a community to protect its character with the limited authority of localities to stall development.

Classic NIMBYs. “Petersham has stressed that it’s supportive of solar energy, just not at the particular location that’s been proposed.” #mapoli commonwealthbeacon.org/courts/shoul...

If Democrats can't talk about democracy as well as the economy, they feed the impression that fascism is OK as long as prices come down. To update Carville's old dictum: It's not just the economy, stupid.

I make some use of it to surface stuff I wouldn’t otherwise see. Mainly I use a list that’s a subset of my Following feed.

Do links hurt news publishers on Twitter? Our analysis suggests yes Engagement for tweets from @nytimes (53 million followers) is dwarfed by engagement for tweets from @GlobeEyeNews (866,000 followers).

Now that there's new evidence of Xitter throttling links, what about Bluesky's algorithmic Discover feed? What about Threads? www.niemanlab.org/2026/04/do-l...

Tennessee high court blocks order allowing media witnesses to view more parts of executions The Tennessee Supreme Court has temporarily blocked a lower court’s order that would have let media witnesses view more parts of state-run executions.

An outrage against the public's right to know.

"...the state attorney general’s office has said the media plaintiffs don’t have a right under the First Amendment to watch executions, let alone to see the additional segments ordered viewable by the trial court judge." #FirstAmendment

Hyperlocal news flourish in these small towns In the small towns of the Monadnock Region, news still spreads in old-fashioned ways: word of mouth, posters, a print newspaper.
