Having had Sen Warren as a law professor, the thought of saying something so inane to her is making me dizzy. I will definitely be having one of those “have to take the exam, but never went to class” stress dreams tonight.

The sky burns red with a fever’s glow,
Above the white of the dying snow.
We carve our paths through the ancient frost,
Counting our gains while the world is lost.

Texas redistricts without a vote, Republicans cheer.

Dems in Virginia respond by putting it UP FOR A VOTE OF THE PEOPLE, it passes, Republican cry foul.

Oh well. Good job Virginia!!

Thirteen U.S. troops died trying to get these people to safety — Afghan interpreters, soldiers, and the families of our service members. Veterans spent sleepless nights during the chaotic withdrawal fighting to keep them alive. Now our own government is going to abandon them.

This Isn't Trading. It's Theft from Your Retirement. Someone keeps making perfectly-timed bets right before the President speaks. The victims are your pension, your 401(k), and the country I took an oath to defend.

Fifteen minutes before the President announced he was pausing strikes on Iran, somebody moved $500 million in oil futures. Somebody knew. Somebody told them. Or somebody is them.

Seems like a fine template for the Democratic president we elect in 2028 to use with the Supreme Court and every other government department Trump has rigged.

“It’s amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.”

- Harry Truman

As Trump proves often, the reverse of this is also true.

It’s amazing how much you can fuck things up when the only thing you care about is getting the credit.

From text message to executive order
The rush to change the government’s stance on the substances, described by officials and advocates, offers a window into the top-down policymaking under Trump.

Trump said he was called by Rogan and people who had taken psychedelics, who joined him at the signing ceremony, about the need to open access to the drugs.

Rogan said he texted Trump about research around ibogaine, and the president’s response was quick: “Sounds great. Do you want FDA approval? Let’s do it.”

Expanding access to psychedelics for mental health seems like a good thing, but I gotta say I am not wild about this process.

Yeah but like… how the fuck is it still 37%?

And down from 39%???

How fucking bad does it need to get before you realise your whole society is dragging its balls over broken glass for an attention whore and psychopath?

Dems need to keep hitting the corruption issue HARD. Make the word inseparable in voters’ minds from Trump and the GOP. Ossoff does a good job here—and it’s an immense relief to hear him talk about Kushner:

We are spending billions to keep our entire navy in the Strait to fecklessly fail to open a waterway that wasn’t closed until Trump’s pointless war of choice closed it.

He’s just burning your tax money.

Trump six weeks ago:

I demand UNCONDITIONAL SURRENDER.

Trump today:

I basically surrender on regime change, the nuclear program being gone once and for all, missiles, proxies, sanctions, and paying off the Iranian regime.

But memo to my followers: Let’s pretend it’s all good!

Trump's Middle East envoys are partners in duplicity Special envoys Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff are proof of what happens when conflicts of interest meet diplomacy

“Kushner and Steve Witkoff, whose lack of experience and conflicts of interest have turned the Middle East into a raging fire and even helped lead to the Iran war.”

Despite what you may have heard, the Pope is only infallible when speaking ex cathedra about doctrine, and there's a whole procedure.
That being said, this Pope is a canon lawyer and was Francis's chief legal advisor. He knows more about Catholic just war doctrine than Johnson, a Southern Baptist.

BREAKING: The U.S. bishops’ Committee on Doctrine just issued a formal statement defending Pope Leo XIV's teaching authority on just war doctrine — less than twelve hours after JD Vance told a Turning Point USA crowd the pope should “be careful” talking theology.

This is a serious escalation.
