There's too many metroidvanias. Specifically, there's too many GOOD metroidvanias. If it's a genre you have any interest in, you are absolutely drowning in fantastic options.

The firehose of games never ends. The new game from the developer of Duskers just left early access - a chess roguelike wrapped around some mysterious narrative stuff.

Competitive coop PvE dungeon crawler structured like an MMO raid but you're crawling a dungeon and getting scored on treasure recovered, enemies killed, % of map explored, time taken, lives lost, etc. Your final score is posted to a seasonal leaderboard. Optimize the dungeon.

illustration of what might be some kind of fantasy funeral rite. The illustration is two colors and stylized, in the foreground is a group of robed priestess holding hands over a long sword. In the background a bandaged corpse lays on an altar among arches shelves of bottles and detritus.

Thanks so much to @portablecity.bsky.social for being a great AD, here's one of two of the illustrations I did for Swords Without Master and you guys have no idea what cool shit you're in for. People have been cranking out the most gorgeous work for that thing

Reference Sheet

Reference Sheet

Working my way out of a long depressive episode, making an effort to reintigrate myself into the online art space. Haven't made much in years, but would like to explore low-poly 3d with hand-painted textures. Sketched up a character design and reference sheet to get started.

Beginning the texturing process, already brings so much more life- or lack thereof- to the model

Texturing is complete- or at least at a point I feel satisfied enough to move on. Process was a mess, but it was a good learning experience.

Some kind of seahorse statue surrounded by pitcher plants. Something I've wanted to model for a while now, and I really enjoyed painting in the lighting & the slight, N64-jank vines

Here is some low poly, very hand-painted 3D #avatar heads!

I have many of these I'm working on, but these are just 2 out of the lot.

Worked in #Blender.

Hi! I'm Rune, a full-time solo indie game developer (art, design, code, ...).

After releasing my first game 'Eye of the Temple' I've been busy developing procedural generation tech for my current game 'The Big Forest'. I often post about it; here's a sampling of my experiments.

For my game's terrain, I've long mulled over how to combine the epicness of grand mountains with the "what's around the corner?" intrigue of smaller cliffs and hills.

After a lot of fiddling over the past two days, I think I may be onto something.
