Finally got around to dedicating some time to Idols of Ash. Really fun time, even if you're not a grappling hook sicko. I will certainly be following this team.

Matrix-based surround sound is really cool despite its limitations. It's a bit underwhelming if you're expecting lots of separation, but I'm still glad I can enjoy it on my setup.

Dunno if it's "scary sharp" but I think I did a good job! Stropping really makes a difference – I was skeptical.

Hey hey 👋 We're an audiobook company that shares profits with indie bookshops. Not only are we a Certified B Corp, Social Purpose Corporation, & 100% employee owned, but our audiobooks are DRM-free—meaning you can listen to them anywhere.

at least we're meant to just accept this as a natural state and also be grateful for half measures for pedestrian infrastructure while also dealing with hate for using and not using the bike lanes.

Thu and Fri are the final 2 days of my class, but before I go back I want to restore this antique router plane that I picked up in a lot last week.

This is a Stanley No. 71 and I believe it dates to 1896-1901. I want a usable tool that preserves the patina on non-work surfaces.

thanks, I really lucked out! I was buying a few bench places and saw this. couldn't say no for $60.

I used a light touch: 'Simple Green', a brass brush, a toothbrush, and 120 grit sandpaper where the brush couldn't get. Wiped down metal with WD-40.

I ground the flat bottom of the blade on a 400 grit diamond stone. It needs a bit more before I work on the bevel.

Wood handles cleaned & waxed.

still have lots of work to do, the underside of the feet will get tapered to a smaller profile. more smoothing, etc. but it's really incredible to see it so come together

puckered up for this stage. several hours of work went into shaping these legs but you eventually have to get around to chopping off the profile of the slipper foot with the chisel. don't get too greedy or the grain can betray you and tear out into the leg.
