Our Project Workers Mean the World to Us🤗
Teens+ wouldn’t be what it is without their kindness, patience and dedication. We’re so grateful for everything they do✨

Beautiful artwork from one of our McDonald Road students🎨
Art can be a sensory experience as much as a creative one, from exploring colours and textures to enjoying the calm, focus and expression that comes with making something by hand🖼️

World Health Day🌍️❤️🩹
Health can be understood in so many different ways, and at Teens+, our students explore a wide range of health‑focused topics that build confidence, independence, and wellbeing.
Our learnings include:
✨ Nutrition
✨ Mental health
✨ Respect & boundaries
✨ Food & Personal hygiene
Happy Tartan Day🏴
Celebrating with a look back at the incredible tartans designed by our Trainees at the Fisherrow Next Steps Hub💙
Building Life Skills💜
This student from our Ravenscroft Centre in Edinburgh had a positive experience completing a food shop at Morrisons, and her smile says everything!
Being out in the community, making choices, and navigating everyday tasks can be a meaningful part of building independence🛍️🛒
Raising Awareness for Red Nose Day!🤡
Last week, our students got involved in Red Nose Day, helping to spread awareness and shine a light on the importance of supporting others❤️
Outdoor Skills with Venturing Out🔥❤️
Last week, our Trainees spent the afternoon with Venturing Out, learning some brilliant outdoor skills. They got hands‑on experience with:
🔥Fire lighting
Building and maintaining a safe fire
🍫Using a storm kettle to make their own hot chocolate
With the better weather, our students have been absolutely loving getting out on the electric bike🚴♂️
It’s given so many of them a little more freedom to be out in the community. It’s become so popular that there’s even a bit of friendly competition to get a turn when the sun comes out!😀
Fully Engrossed in his Book📖
There’s something lovely about seeing our students enjoying a quiet moment with a book. These small snapshots show concentration, independence, and the personal progress each learner makes in their own way✨

🎭World Theatre Day🎭
Project Worker Scott shares a story about one of our students at the Liberton Brae Centre who showed a huge change in their speech after joining our drama group!
This is a reminder of how powerful creativity is, not just for performance, but for connection and self‑expression❤️
🧮Happy World Maths Day🧮
At Teens+, our students are building their numeracy skills every single day!
From addition and number recognition to money management and practical problem‑solving, maths plays a big part in supporting confidence and independence across our centres🔢
We love our Project Workers too!🤗❤️
Busy in the Garden!🌱
This student was busy at our Liberton Brae Centre planting cucumber seeds today, lots of fun, focus, and hands‑on learning!
Gardening activities like this are a brilliant way to build responsibility, enjoy some calm, and watch something grow over time💚
Good luck from your Teens+ Family🎡🧗

𝗙𝘂𝗻 𝗙𝗮𝗰𝘁 𝗙𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗮𝘆😀✨
Did you know our students regularly head out of the centre to learn in real‑world settings?
Last week, some of our students from McDonald Road visited the Memory Museum at Ocean Terminal. A great chance to build knowledge, explore history, and develop confidence in the community🏛️
They explored how to spot risks, make safe choices, and protect themselves when using the internet, an important part of building independence and confidence in the digital world.
A big thank you to the team at Musselburgh Station for taking the time to support our students💜
Online Safety at our East Lothian Centre👩💻
Students at our East Lothian Centre had a visit from a local Police Constable from Police Scotland last week, who spoke with them about the importance of staying safe online💻️
It was a thoughtful touch and a brilliant reminder that recognising your own strengths matters just as much as celebrating others. She’s right to see herself as someone inspiring too✨
💜International Women’s Day💜
Last week in our McDonald Road centre, one of our students created a presentation all about the women who inspire her for International Women's Day. On the final slide, she included herself!

What helps you sleep at night?🌙
To celebrate World Sleep Day, we asked the Trainees and Facilitators at our Fisherrow Next Steps Hub to share the little things that help them wind down and get a better night’s sleep. From routines to relaxing habits, everyone has their own way of switching off✨
Across Teens+, our students also play their part in caring for the planet. Our students are regularly out litter‑picking, a great example of how our centres promote responsibility, community pride, and everyday sustainability♻️
💚NET ZERO CHAMPIONS💚
We’re proud to be part of Capella, named Net Zero Champion of the Year and highly commended for the Innovation Award at this year’s Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce Awards!✨
