I reviewed Hamnet for IGN, which is yet another strong showing for Jessie Buckley and a welcome return to form for director Chloe Zhao:

The third one will probably be the Mario Odyssey Movie but I stand firm that the second one should've been called World
Why is the second Mario movie called the Mario Galaxy Movie. Shouldn't it be the Super Mario World Movie? Then the third one could be Galaxy. You can't deescalate so you can't do World now. What will the third one be called? Who is managing this franchise
wifes love asking shit like "Honey, what is the Blowjob Olympics?" and "Why is 'Blowjob Olympics' listed on our CC statement like 14 times"
Twitter nuking my group chats it's so Jeffover
Mass Effect meme that says "Every Squad Got The" followed by eight pictures labeled as "Terrorist", showing Miranda, Jacob, Jack, Garrus, Joker, Tali, Mordin and Grunt. At the bottom is a picture of Female Shepard labeled as "Holy shit I think I accidentally joined a terrorist group"
If you need a debrief on the ending of Predator: Badlands and what it may mean for the future of the series, I have you covered @ign.com:

I reviewed James Vanderbilt's Nuremberg for IGN, a solid if occasionally shaky WWII drama anchored by the always compelling Russell Crowe as Hitler's second-in-command Hermann Göring:

I reviewed Clint Bentley's Train Dreams for IGN, a poignant pastoral Western featuring excellent performances from Joel Edgerton and Felicity Jones and some of the most gorgeous cinematography you'll see all year:

Even 40 years after its release, the sci-fi/horror/zombie movie about space vampires may still be the most bonkers big-budget film of all time.
For its 40th anniversary, I used my Halloween piece to write about Tobe Hooper's Lifeforce, and why this horny space vampire movie is still the most insane big budget film of all time:

I was going to photoshop a fake news announcement about one of them being announced for showrunner as a joke, but this is how it feels googling which writers for the first three seasons of Doctor Who are still alive:
Can Doctor Who get a showrunner who didn't write in its first three seasons now
Every day this fucking technology makes the world worse and no one is doing a damn thing to stop it
This is literally why I came back here today lmao

Trying to get back on here since Elon is now intending to replace the Twitter algorithm with his pet AI
Excellent article from @carlosalonzom.bsky.social on why we need to adjust our box office expectations (CBMs especially). If a film makes ENOUGH $ for itself (let alone greenlighting a sequel) then that's all that matters. Merchandise sales & streaming deals certainly help. bsky.app/profile/ign....
This article by @carlosalonzom.bsky.social is worth a read. Hoult's Lex is one of my CBM villains in recent memory primarily because he HATES Superman in all his petty glory. Sometimes a villain being truly evil (backed by a passionate performance) is all you need.

I've been hard on the AV Club, a once vital & essential culture site that turned into a rote clearing house for thinly written click bait, but this is an excellent deconstruction of the disastrous post-Endgame MCU. I was surprised until i saw @carolinesiede.bsky.social wrote it. She knows her shit.
Close angle photo of a cat, photoshopped to be situated in front of a wall full of video games. The cat has glasses and a shirt drawn over it, meant to resemble the angry video game nerd.
>go back to the past
>look inside
>shitty games that suck ass
(explaining bugs bunny to a girl) ok the thing you gotta know about this guy is hes basically never serious. He is always clowning on others
Anybody who voted for Emilia Perez to win *any* award is an unserious person and should never be listened to in any context ever again
It really is time for the MCU to stop using military imagery (and military contributions in general) to prop up their superheroes. Sam's Cap should just be a civilian superhero at this point. My hope is that once the F4 and X-Men arrive that Marvel let's us root for underdogs for a change.
