I started crocheting a blanket for my father yesterday. He wanted ridiculously cheap acrylic. Like $4/ball cheap.

Which is like... I have paid more for a single skein of yarn than I did for an entire blanket's worth of scratchy acrylic for this man. But he picked it out! That's what he wanted! 😭

Hey folks. Been reading Mi'Sel Joe's memoir the last few days.

This one's must-read for Newfoundlanders especially, because it's a memoir that was taken orally of the longtime Mi'kmaq chief of Miawpukek First Nation (Conne River).

It's very down-to-earth & brings it all home for me.

My 200th book was Truth Telling by Michelle Good. Highly recommend, especially for Canadians who take their Indigenous anti-racism seriously. Be prepared to feel uncomfortable, and to sit with some seriously ugly truth.
