Ugh. Was looking for large plant pots on HomeDepot.com and thought for a moment I had an aneurism. Brand names of planter pots: Tuyohw. Oyezvary. Ogetfuur. Vevor. What is going on? Are they going IKEA? Did AI took over but forgot to make pleasant brand names?

Oh #Deadline, the moment #TronAres underperforms at the Box Office it's "long term COVID impact". Yep, not a crappy script at all. No Sir! That's just pesky Covid messing with the audiences. It seems to select only _some_ movies though. But oh well. That's right, only Covid.

I think whole #Tylenol and #Autism thing might add a tiny bit of responsibility for people who publish vague "maybe maybe not, it's observational, and inconclusive" studies because now there's a threat of consequences. "Imagine this study gets used by administration to make decision. Feeling good?"

Cracker Barrel scraps new logo after backlash US President Donald Trump was among those criticising the company for unveiling a new, minimalistic version of its logo.

The real question is will the CEO of #CrackerBarrel still demand re-modeling of all properties to look like Taco Bell. I understand that step in CEO's career was successful but you don't need everything to be Taco Bell, okay? We don't need Demolition Man timeline 😑

Disney’s Boy Trouble: Studio Seeks Original IP to Win Back Gen-Z Men Amid Marvel, Lucasfilm Struggles As Marvel and Lucasfilm stumble, Disney hopes originals will lure Gen Z audiences.

*sigh*
Well I do know if #Disney finds this new original IP for boys they'd go "but why is it not for girls also? so mysoginistic! we need to change it!" with quick "hm lost half the audience, wonder why" pikachu face.

a cat is standing on a window sill in front of a window . Alt: a cat is standing on a window sill in front of a window and jumps off

It feels kinda like two shows stitched together -- classic Alien and a Cyberpunk Peter Pan story :) Which is fine and still interesting to me. Hopefully episode 3 also won't disappoint and we'll learn _why_ xenomorph went...

"Newsom has said the rollback will be temporary and that the gerrymandered maps would only be in effect for the 2026, 2028 and 2030 elections." Ahaha. Come on, nobody is that stupid to believe it. If it works it'll be there forever because democracy is somehow in danger

Box Office: ‘Fantastic Four’ Braces For Big Second Weekend Drop; ‘The Naked Gun’ Locks Up $6.3 Million on Opening Day 'The Fantastic Four: First Steps' took a hefty drop during its second Friday at the box office. 'The Naked Gun' is off to a solid start.

Eh, given size of Sunday drop during first weekend this is not _really_ that surprising. Still good enough to remain number 1 in second weekend #BoxOffice

I read about people saying #Vogue #AI dress ad is "unrealistic" and do wonder why they think it's somehow worse than a "regular" ad. Supermodel, custom-tailored adjusted dress, perfect light, a few rounds of photoshop on top vs "just generate it". Both aren't real, like fast food ad vs real burger 😐

Hackers leak 13,000 user photos and IDs from the Tea app, designed as a women's safe space The viral app requires new users to take selfies, which it says it deletes after review.

Aww the whole stalker-like "Tea" safety app turned out to have crap safety itself, spilling some users' data including photos of government ID and selfies. Data is supposedly from 2 years ago but who knows...

I'm surprised that the 'Late Show' cancellation has been announced so far in advance. For the next half a year Stephen Colbert will be discussing _why_ it was cancelled, I guess (I mean we kinda know why)

On the positive side this never-ending "you're a government sponsored media!" saga will be over and they'll be fully independent and free to write with less internal censorship.

*sigh* My James Ryman werewolf t-shirt from 2009 has bit the dust. And guess what, it's not been made since then. I guess next time I find a design I like I should just buy like 4 or 5, just in case :(

So it's all horrible mismanagement of the EV switch? Last year it was "we'll have EVs by 2025", this year it's "coming in 2027"? As in kill old, promise new, not deliver the new, zero sales. I'd expect new ads to only go out a few months before new model is on sale or it's Sony Mobile all over.

When people tell you "No amount of money will make people do N" (where N is not something outright repugnant) I think they usually are lying. In majority of the cases it's "nobody will give you ENOUGH money" cause let's face it, with enough cash thrown in people will agree to _a lot_ of things.

*confused contract law noises* Do writers for #Ironheart live in a universe where contract signed under duress is somehow valid? Was that in the comic? Some sort of a clumsy attempt at "but later it'll be all void and bring them more problems" foreshadowing?

Argument against "bubble/echo chamber" seems disingenuous though. The whole point was to keep BlueSky mostly leaning left, and that's why users go here. While "online in general" could give exposure to right-wing side it's not present on BlueSky in noticeable amounts and moderation is swift, no?

‘Doctor Who’ Showrunner Casts More Doubt Over Series’ Future As UK Ratings Plummet: “We Don’t Know What’s Happening” Russell T Davies says he remains in the dark over 'Doctor Who's future. The BBC and Disney are yet to confirm a renewal.

Eh, it'll be a loooong pause. Maybe they'll figure out how to write good episodes so ratings stop diving into toilet? Oh who am I kidding. It's clearly all fans' fault, they're just not insulting fans hard enough :P

Sluggish Galaxy S25 Edge sales make Samsung cut back production Galaxy S25 Edge sales are reportedly low enough to have convinced Samsung to readjust and lower its manufacturing plans for this month.

Oh noooes, S25 Edge, the "thin" phone with crap battery is not selling. Such tragedy. Hopefully it means Plus line will stay in place (if Edge bs thing is selling _even less_, I mean seriously edge is a useless tech demo, not a good phone)
