Gil Duran tweet: TLDR: Fascism in response to Palantir's long fascists screed on X.
"Your Account is Suspended" Message on X
The CEO of Palantir posted a fascist manifesto on X.
I pointed out that it was fascist—which resulted in a permanent suspension from X (my second time!).
So, when you hear the tweeters complaining that BlueSky is intolerant, remember why many of us came here in the first place.
A reckoning is unfolding in the Amazon.
In my special issue for @theecologist.org, I explore how Indigenous leaders, traditional communities and researchers are resisting development that could push this vital ecosystem past irreversible tipping points.

This is egregious - handing impunity to a sector that diverts billions of dollars annually away from actual decarbonization. It's also a sign that accountability efforts are beginning to work. Danny's a leading expert here - this explainer is masterful, and short! Give it a read.
Screengrab of Heated substack post on avoiding endocrine disruptors like microplastics as individuals with emphasis on “For many people, particularly low income and Black and brown people, this kind of “detox” is simply not on the table.”
Also raising this bc I asked some time ago if there are any researchers looking into microplastics burden by income—and it may boil down to who has the time and the resources to look into the how of avoiding microplastics

Things I have seen in the rubble of Israeli airstrikes in Lebanon in the past week, part four.
At least 2,167 people have been killed in Lebanon since March 2 and 7,061 wounded. The dead include at least 172 children and 260 women.

"But as the article states, Amalia was one of many children suffering from medical neglect in ICE custody, most of whom we will likely never learn about."

This essay is fascinating, horrifying, and educational. Fascorrificational. A sordid tale well worth the read.
Texas' only licensed Hindi, Punjabi, and Urdu legal interpreter is now languishing in a Raymondville detention center. She’s lived in America for 35 years: www.texasobserver.org/immigration-...
It’s all damn contradictory. AI is inevitable they say but also don’t be too dependent on AI but also we’re incorporating AI into the curriculum
The Trump administration’s push for mass deportations has resulted in more than 18,000 challenges in federal court from immigrants claiming their detention is illegal.
We are tracking the increase in these cases:
Wow, Zeldin, Burgum, *and* Wright all came to NYC today to break ground on the NESE pipeline, the first major pipeline project in NY in over a decade.
I’m told Nassau County exec & GOP gov candidate Bruce Blakeman was there as well. Hochul by all indications was not and has not made any statement
BREAKING: Maryland is about to become the first state in the nation to ban the use of surveillance data and dynamic pricing at grocery stores.
The Maryland House has just passed the Protection from Predatory Pricing Act.
Governor Wes Moore plans to sign the bill.
Nurses are the most trusted profession in the country. Why? Because we're not afraid to speak up for the truth!
We're on day ✌in Washington, D.C. speaking out against a rigged society that benefits the 1%, while the working class are squeezed more and more.
The same week the NYTimes was devoting its significant resources to producing this ridiculous piece about Lauren Sanchez Bezos's call for rich people to not worry and be happy, Ryan Hass, an independent journalist in Oregon, was investigating this horrifying story about a death in an Amazon plant.
I suspect the Pope sounds "woke" to many Christian conservatives because the US is steeped in prosperity theology, where the point of worship is to deliver health and wealth to believers. Thus, "feed the hungry" and "show mercy for the poor" sounds needlessly political and "woke."
Over 34,000 concierges, doormen and other building workers in New York City are threatening to strike over stagnant wages and proposed health insurance cost-sharing.
If a strike occurs, more than 3,000 affected buildings could face operational issues.
A worker died at an Amazon warehouse in Oregon last week.
For more than an hour, workers were instructed to continue working as the man lay dead.
One worker wanted to help, but a manager told them to “Just turn around and not look. Let’s get back to work," according to @thewesternedge.bsky.social.
A GENTLE REMINDER: we are trying to eliminate fossil fuels because using them kills us.
If fossil fuels were cheap (they're not) or reliable (they're SO NOT), it would still be urgent to get rid of them because their intended use destroys our life support systems.
Hugely important issue:
This is the culmination of SIXTEEN YEARS of dogged work by everyday Hungarians.
You think that felt hopeless sometimes? I'm sure it did.
👏 Don't 👏 give 👏 up 👏
In light of Orban's loss in Hungary, it is SO vital to go listen to this @naomiaklein.bsky.social interview with @themaybe.org / @alixdunn.com.
Don't mistake the muscularity of anger for real, sustained power. Fascists of all kinds are showing how scared they are every single day.
oh god oh fuck I took the metro to the Tisza rally and all these kids POURED OUT of the train at the stop and started running up the escalators chanting, and briefly held hands with the older people leaving the rally and going down on the escalator, and I think I may actually just cry
To any Hungarians annoyed that Americans are placing the credit for your momentous victory on the shoulders of our stunningly repellent little weasel of a VP: you are correct to feel that way, I'm sorry, we just want to seize any available oppurtunity to humiliate him specificially
ed blum is straight up just trying to eliminate educational opportunities for black kids under the guise of “equality.”
Apple Maps appears to have removed the names of all villages in southern Lebanon.
This is the exact area Israel is currently trying to occupy.
GFS map of temperature anomalies over the contiguous USA for March 21, 2026.
We need to talk a bit about how utterly absurd the March heatwave was in the USA.
This heatwave would have been impossible without a boost from climate change, but even with climate change it remains a deeply unlikely event.
A thread looking at some of the numbers.

Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum has signed a decree establishing Universal Healthcare for all Mexican citizens.
The United States could’ve had this, but people chose economic collapse, cruelty and death instead. I’ll never regret voting for Hillary Clinton and Kamala Harris.
