War is the biggest environmental crime on Earth.
Every bomb dropped poisons the air, the soil, and the water. Cities burn, ecosystems collapse, and generations inherit landscapes filled with toxins, rubble, and trauma. War doesn’t only kill people. It destroys the living systems that sustain life itself.
In a time of climate and ecological emergency, escalating conflict is a direct assault on the planet and on our shared future.
Extinction Rebellion stands against war.
Extinction Rebellion stands against ecocide.
A livable world cannot be built on endless violence. Peace, justice, and ecological protection are inseparable.

An image of a prescribed burn with the following text: “Q: What is prescribed fire? A: Prescribed fire is when a piece of land is set on fire on purpose. The fire is kept within designated borders and is usually lower intensity than a wildfire.” A designated fire border is shown in the picture with a line.

An image of the aftermath of a prescribed burn with the words: “Q: Why would anyone light a fire on purpose? A comparison of post-prescribed burn and post-wildfire pictures, with a fair amount of trees still alive post-prescribed burn while almost all the trees post-wildfire are dead. The text reads:
Q: How is prescribed fire a climate solution? A: Prescribed fire is generally less intense than a wildfire, and it reduces the intensity of future wildfires. Less intense fire means less carbon released into the atmosphere, and more trees still alive to absorb CO2.”

An electric car charging in a parking garage

Another climate solution spotted: Electric vehicle (EV) chargers in a parking garage in Denver, CO. EVs are a great idea for the planet, but they only work if the infrastructure is there. We need more charging stations in more public places to make EVs a preferred transportation alternative.

Climate solution spotted! Cities across the US are providing e-bikes to give
people a more carbon-friendly travel alternative to cars. In a world full of bad news, let’s take some time to acknowledge what we’re doing right. (Pictured here: New York City)

What’s your New Year’s climate resolution? Here are some ideas:
- Join a climate activism org
- Take public transit instead of a car
- Talk about climate change. (When it’s trendy, people care!)

The smaller footprint on the right says “Gifting loved ones time: time to talk or write or make a special thing” with a picture of a clock with a bow on top.

Give the gift of your time this holiday season and keep money out of the hands of large corporations contributing to climate change. A thoughtful, homemade gift, or just some quality time, can go a long way.

Democratic politicians have largely abandoned climate talk “There’s no obvious electoral upside."

An interesting read about how elected officials (and voters) communicate about climate change. How can we make climate change something that feels more relevant to people? It’s hard to take action towards a seemingly abstract issue when your basic needs aren’t being met. share.google/ruDhUqJ5RLGT...
